Summary

This 2022 X5 M50i Executive offers a rare combination of modern performance and significant value, featuring a low 37,193 km mileage that sits well below the GCC annual average for this year. The Executive trim elevates the cabin beyond the standard M-Sport, adding premium materials and a suite of high-end technology that makes it a standout in the mid-size luxury SUV segment. Its white exterior remains the most sought-after color for resale in the local market, ensuring it stays relevant for future buyers across the Emirates. While Korean-spec vehicles typically see higher depreciation initially, this creates a compelling entry point for a buyer seeking V8 performance at a more accessible price. For those prioritizing highway overtaking power and refined tech, this specific listing is a well-maintained opportunity to own one of the final pure V8 X5 variants.

This Car vs Other 2022 X5s

With just 37,193 km, this X5 has been driven significantly less than the typical 50,000–60,000 km expected for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering both superior heat reflection and the strongest resale demand in the secondary market. As a Korean-spec model, it offers identical mechanical underpinnings to local units but at a more competitive price point for the savvy buyer.

M50i EXECUTIVE vs Lower Trims

The M50i Executive trim is a major leap over the xDrive40i, replacing the six-cylinder engine with a formidable 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8. Inside, this trim adds the Executive Package, which typically includes a large Head-Up Display, premium Harman Kardon audio, and multi-contour ventilated seats that are essential for maintaining comfort during intense GCC summer months. It also features upgraded M-Sport brakes and an adaptive M suspension not found on entry-level trims.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

The X5 M50i holds a performance edge over rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 and Audi Q7, offering a more driver-centric chassis and superior acceleration. While the GLE focuses on soft-ride comfort, the BMW's 750 Nm of torque provides more authoritative highway overtaking for long drives between cities. The cabin technology and digital interface in this generation remain among the most intuitive for GCC drivers compared to the touch-heavy systems of its competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.4L V8 engine averages approximately 12.7 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC city traffic can see figures rise to 16–18 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000–12,000 km, with BMW's authorized service network spanning across the UAE and Saudi Arabia for consistent maintenance. While European luxury SUVs generally depreciate faster than Japanese rivals, the low mileage and white-on-black configuration help this specific unit retain its value better than higher-mileage imported counterparts.

Performance & Capability

Generating 523 hp and 750 Nm of torque, this SUV achieves 0–100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, rivaling many dedicated sports cars. The Four-Wheel Drive system and M Sport Differential ensure maximum traction during high-speed highway cruising or wet weather conditions. With a 250 km/h top speed and adaptive drive modes, it transitions seamlessly from a comfortable family cruiser to a high-performance machine suited for the UAE's modern road infrastructure.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is optimized for five passengers, featuring ventilated front sport seats that provide vital cooling during the peak summer heat. Acoustic glazing and multi-zone climate control ensure a quiet, chilled environment regardless of the outside temperature. The boot offers 650 liters of space, easily accommodating golf clubs or family luggage for weekend trips across the border.

Safety

This X5 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The 360-degree camera and Parking Assistant Plus simplify maneuvering in tight urban spaces, while standard Frontal Collision Warning and adaptive LED lighting provide extra security during late-night desert highway drives.

The bottom line

This low-mileage V8 SUV is the ideal choice for an enthusiast looking for Executive-level luxury and raw power at a significant discount compared to GCC-spec equivalents.
