• Dual 12.3-inch digital displays standard
• 83-litre fuel tank for long-range cruising

Summary

This 4-year-old BMW X5 is a standout choice in the GCC market, offering a mileage of 51,743 km which is notably lower than the average annual usage expected for a luxury SUV in this region. Finished in Alpine White, the most desirable resale color for the Emirates and wider Gulf, it maintains its value significantly better than darker counterparts. The xDrive40i M Sport trim strikes the ideal balance between everyday efficiency and the aggressive aesthetics typically reserved for the full M models. For the GCC buyer, the standard xDrive all-wheel-drive system provides essential stability during sudden desert rain showers or when traversing sandy coastal roads. This particular listing represents a sweet spot for those seeking a modern, high-tech German SUV that has already bypassed its steepest initial depreciation phase.

This Car vs Other 2022 X5s

With only 51,743 km on the odometer, this X5 has been driven significantly less than the typical 80,000 to 100,000 km usually seen on 4-year-old vehicles in the GCC. The White exterior is not just a stylistic choice but a practical advantage, as it reflects the intense Gulf sun and remains the strongest performing color for resale value in the UAE. Buyers will find this mileage-to-age ratio offers a mechanical freshness that is rare in the pre-owned SUV market.

xDrive40i M Sport vs Lower Trims

The M Sport package transforms the X5 from a standard executive cruiser into a performance-oriented SAV, adding the M Aerodynamics kit, high-gloss Shadowline trim, and the iconic M Sport steering wheel. Unlike the base sDrive models, this trim includes the xDrive all-wheel-drive system as standard, ensuring superior grip on varied GCC road surfaces. It also frequently features upgraded M Sport brakes and 20-inch wheels that provide a more commanding presence than the standard 19-inch variants.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW X5 leads competitors like the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q7 with a more driver-centric cockpit and the highly intuitive iDrive 7.0 system. Its 83-litre fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance travel between cities like Dubai and Riyadh, offering fewer stops than rivals with smaller capacities. Furthermore, the X5's B58 straight-six engine is widely regarded as one of the most reliable and smooth-operating powertrains in the luxury crossover segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the xDrive40i typically averages around 10.4 L/100km, performing efficiently on long highway stretches while staying manageable in GCC stop-start city traffic. BMW’s authorized service network is extensive across all major GCC cities, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a value premium of 15-20% over non-regional imports, with the 40i trim historically showing the most stable depreciation curve in the lineup.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six delivers a verified 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. With a manufacturer-stated top speed of 243 km/h and a sophisticated 8-speed automatic transmission, the driving experience remains refined even at higher cruising speeds. Selectable drive modes including ECO PRO and SPORT allow the driver to tailor the chassis and powertrain response to suit either a relaxed school run or a spirited weekend drive.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a pair of 12.3-inch digital displays that provide a high-resolution interface for navigation and media. GCC-specific comfort is ensured by the powerful multi-zone climate control system, designed to rapidly cool the interior even in 45°C+ summer heat. Acoustic glazing and premium materials ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary from external noise, while the generous 650-litre boot space handles family luggage with ease.

Safety

This X5 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation. These systems are particularly valuable on multi-lane Gulf highways where fast-moving traffic requires constant vigilance. Standard parking sensors and a rearview camera make maneuvering this mid-size SUV into tight mall parking spaces effortless, while the robust AWD system ensures maximum traction in all weather conditions.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec X5 M Sport is the perfect opportunity for a professional or family looking for a low-mileage, high-spec German SUV that is perfectly adapted for the local climate and holds its value exceptionally well.
