Summary

This 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray offers a rare opportunity to own the first mid-engine evolution of the American icon in its highly desirable 2LT Z51 convertible form. With 66,515 km, this car has been driven consistently across the UAE, ensuring its mechanical components are well-exercised rather than sitting idle. The Black exterior is a top-tier choice for resale in the GCC market, holding its value significantly better than more experimental hues. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for the regional climate, featuring the Z51 cooling upgrades that are essential for high-performance driving in the summer heat. This listing represents a perfect balance of performance and daily usability for the local market.

This Car vs Other 2022 Corvettes

At 66,515 km over 4 years, this Corvette shows a higher-than-average mileage for a weekend sports car but aligns with typical UAE daily-driver use of roughly 16,000 km per year. While many Corvettes in the market are low-mileage weekend toys, this car's consistent history suggests a reliable mechanical life on well-maintained regional highways. The Black exterior is one of the strongest resale colors in the GCC, ensuring it remains a liquid asset compared to rarer, more polarizing shades.

STINGRAY 2LT Z51 vs Lower Trims

The 2LT trim is the sweet spot for GCC buyers, adding essential ventilated seats, a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, and a Head-Up Display that are missing on the base 1LT. This specific car also includes the Z51 Performance Package, which is the most critical addition for the UAE climate, as it adds a third radiator for enhanced cooling along with performance brakes and an electronic limited-slip differential. These upgrades not only improve track performance at the Dubai Autodrome but significantly protect the engine during fast highway cruises in summer peak temperatures.

Corvette vs Segment Rivals

The Corvette C8 stands out against rivals like the Porsche 911 and Jaguar F-Type by offering a mid-engine exotic layout at a significantly lower maintenance price point within the UAE. Its large 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 provides a linear power delivery and visceral sound that the turbocharged competitors cannot match. For GCC long-distance driving, the Corvette's generous 70-litre fuel tank provides a superior highway range compared to many smaller-displacement sports cars in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 12.4L/100km on a combined cycle, though it can drop to 8.7L/100km during long highway stretches between Emirates thanks to cylinder deactivation. The C8 has shown exceptional value retention in the GCC, depreciating far slower than European rivals, often losing less than 10-12% annually. Service is convenient across the GCC via Al Ghandi or Bin Hamoodah networks, with the critical dual-clutch transmission fluid service due at the 72,000 km mark, making this an ideal time to buy and plan the next major maintenance milestone.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with the Z51 package, this Stingray sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds, offering supercar-level acceleration on local roads. The 8-speed dual-clutch transmission provides lightning-fast shifts that make the most of the 490 hp output, whether overtaking on the E11 or enjoying a weekend drive through Jebel Jais. The Z51 performance suspension and improved cooling systems ensure that the car maintains peak performance even when the external temperature exceeds 45°C.

Comfort & Cabin

The 2LT cabin is a driver-focused environment featuring heated and ventilated leather seats that are a necessity for UAE summers. The digital rearview mirror provides a clear view behind the car even when the convertible top is up, solving the visibility issues common in mid-engine layouts. The 14-speaker Bose audio system is specifically tuned to remain clear and immersive even when driving with the hardtop retracted at highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety features on this 2LT trim include Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are invaluable for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic in Dubai and Riyadh. The car also features a Performance Data Recorder that can act as a high-definition dashcam for daily safety or record telemetry during track days. Unlike the base trim, the 2LT adds front curb-view cameras to protect the low-slung front splitter from damage during parking.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec 2LT Z51 is the ideal configuration for a UAE enthusiast who wants a reliable, climate-ready supercar that can be driven daily without the typical European maintenance headaches.
