Summary

This 2022 Ferrari 812 GTS is a collector-grade example of the world's most powerful production convertible, offering a rare opportunity to own a naturally aspirated V12 masterpiece with exceptionally low mileage. In the GCC market, where high-performance grand tourers are highly prized, the Blue exterior offers a sophisticated and desirable alternative to the common red, ensuring stronger resale interest among enthusiasts. With just 2300 km on the odometer, this vehicle has barely completed its break-in period, making it one of the freshest examples available in the region. Unlike mid-engine rivals, the front-engine layout provides a more usable grand touring experience for long drives between the Emirates while delivering a sound that is unmatched by turbocharged competitors. For the serious GCC collector, this car represents the pinnacle of internal combustion technology before the industry shifts toward hybridization. Owning a vehicle of this caliber in the UAE or wider Gulf ensures access to a very exclusive community and a vehicle that historically maintains its value far better than its peers.

This Car vs Other 2022 812s

When comparing this specific 812 GTS to other 2022 models currently available in the GCC, the primary differentiator is the remarkably low mileage of only 2300 km. While the average annual mileage for a high-end luxury vehicle in the UAE often reaches 15,000 km, this car has been preserved in near-showroom condition, effectively making it a new car in the used market. The Blue exterior finish is a significant advantage for long-term value; in a region where the market can sometimes be oversaturated with traditional colors, a tasteful and rare specification like this often commands a premium at resale. This car’s 'Other' regional specification means it was originally sourced from outside the local GCC dealership network, likely Europe, yet it remains fully compatible with local service centers. For a buyer looking for a 2022 model that feels untouched by the harsh coastal humidity or high-speed highway wear common in the Gulf, this example stands at the very top of its class.

GTS vs Lower Trims

Choosing the GTS trim over the standard Superfast coupe completely transforms the ownership experience, especially in the GCC where evening drives with the top down are a central part of the lifestyle. The GTS features a power-retractable hardtop that can be operated in just 14 seconds, allowing you to switch from a quiet, insulated cabin to an immersive open-air experience at speeds up to 45 km/h. Beyond the roof, the GTS benefits from specific tuning of the Manettino settings to ensure the handling remains razor-sharp despite the open-top architecture. You also get the rear-wheel steering system which makes this large grand tourer feel as nimble as a mid-engine supercar on tight city streets like those in Downtown Dubai. Standard luxury features on this trim, such as upgraded leather interior finishes and advanced carbon-fiber accents, are often optional on lower models, providing a much higher level of tactile quality. This is the definitive version of the 812, offering all the performance of the coupe with the added drama of the V12 soundtrack being pumped directly into the cabin.

812 vs Segment Rivals

The 812 GTS occupies a unique space in the market, primarily competing with the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster and the Aston Martin DBS Volante. While the Lamborghini is more aggressive and track-focused, the Ferrari offers a far superior level of daily usability and comfort, which is essential for drives from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. Compared to the Aston Martin, the Ferrari's hand-built V12 engine produces a more visceral and high-revving performance profile that enthusiasts specifically seek out. The 812 also leads the segment in terms of technological integration, featuring a dual-clutch transmission that is significantly smoother than the older single-clutch systems found in some rivals. In the GCC climate, the Ferrari's cooling system is notoriously robust, designed to keep that massive V12 at optimal temperatures even when idling in heavy summer traffic. This makes it the most well-rounded choice for a buyer who wants hypercar performance without sacrificing luxury or reliability.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a V12 Ferrari in the GCC is a premium experience that carries specific maintenance expectations but offers excellent resale stability. Real-world fuel consumption for the 800 hp V12 typically averages around 15–18 liters per 100km, which is manageable given the region's accessible high-octane fuel and large fuel tank designed for long-distance touring. Although this is a non-GCC spec car, Ferrari’s global service centers in major cities like Riyadh, Dubai, and Kuwait City are fully equipped to handle and maintain this vehicle. The depreciation curve for the 812 GTS is exceptionally shallow compared to other luxury brands; while a standard European luxury sedan might lose 15% of its value annually, the 812 GTS is a limited-production model that often sees value appreciation as the automotive world moves away from V12 engines. At the three-year mark in the GCC market, these cars often retain over 85% of their original value, making them one of the safest high-performance investments one can make. Parts availability remains strong through authorized channels across the Gulf, ensuring that even as the car ages, it can be kept in peak mechanical condition.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this 812 GTS is a 6.75-liter V12 producing a staggering 800 horsepower, propelling the car from 0-100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds. This level of performance is truly in the top 5% of all production cars globally, with a top speed exceeding 340 km/h, making it a king of the UAE's high-speed highway networks. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout (often incorrectly listed as FWD in basic data but universally known as RWD in this model) provides a classic grand touring balance that is both stable at high speeds and playful in corners. It features the Side Slip Control (SSC) system, which allows even less experienced drivers to manage the massive power output safely on diverse road surfaces. On the long, straight highways of the Saudi desert or the twisting mountain roads of Fujairah, the 812 GTS feels endlessly powerful and incredibly refined. The steering is lightning-fast, and the carbon-ceramic brakes provide immense stopping power, essential for safety when navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the 812 GTS offers a driver-centric cockpit that blends high-tech functionality with old-world Italian craftsmanship. The seating capacity is strictly for two, ensuring that both occupants have an abundance of legroom and lateral support for long journeys across the GCC. The cabin insulation is remarkably effective; even in the heat of a 45°C summer day, the Ferrari's air conditioning system is built to provide rapid cooling, a vital feature for local owners. High-quality materials like Alcantara, carbon fiber, and premium leather are used throughout, creating an environment that feels special every time you step inside. The passenger-side display allows your co-pilot to view speed and rev data, making them a part of the driving experience. Sound insulation with the hardtop closed is excellent, allowing you to enjoy the premium audio system without interference from wind noise, even at highway speeds. This cabin is designed for the owner who wants to drive 500 kilometers in a day and arrive feeling refreshed and energized.

Safety

Safety in the 812 GTS is managed by a suite of advanced electronic systems designed to harness its 800 horsepower safely. It includes a highly sophisticated Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a specialized version of the E-Diff 3, which manages power distribution between the rear wheels to prevent loss of traction. For GCC drivers navigating the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the car features high-performance ABS and traction control that are tuned for both maximum performance and emergency safety. Visibility is surprisingly good for a car with such a low profile, and the lighting system provides exceptional clarity for night driving on unlit desert roads. Unlike many of its predecessors, this model includes modern driver aids that make it much safer to operate in heavy city traffic. Every component of the safety system is engineered to function seamlessly with the car's performance capabilities, ensuring that you are protected whether you are cruising through a city center or pushing the car on an open stretch of highway.

The bottom line

This 2022 812 GTS is the perfect acquisition for a GCC-based enthusiast who demands the ultimate V12 experience with the security of extremely low mileage. It represents a rare opportunity to secure one of the last great naturally aspirated Ferraris in a sophisticated color palette that will stand the test of time.
