Summary

This 2022 Yukon AT4 is a compelling choice for GCC buyers seeking a balance of luxury and genuine off-road capability. With its black exterior and high-spec AT4 trim, it holds a strong position in the local resale market where dark colors and off-road hardware are highly prized. The 5.3L V8 provides dependable power for long-distance highway cruising between emirates while being more fuel-efficient than the larger 6.2L alternatives. Having covered just over 110,000 km, this vehicle has been broken in on the region's highways and remains ready for both family duties and desert weekends. The combination of a specialized 4WD system and a premium cabin ensures you don't have to choose between ruggedness and comfort.

This Car vs Other 2022 Yukons

With approximately 110,946 km, this Yukon sits within the average range for a four-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where annual mileages of 25,000 km are standard due to highway commuting. The black exterior is a premier resale color in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets, ensuring better value retention compared to niche colors. Choosing the AT4 over a base SLE provides significant hardware upgrades that are specifically suited to the region's diverse terrain.

AT4 vs Lower Trims

The AT4 trim adds critical off-road features missing on the SLE and SLT, including a front skid plate, red recovery hooks, and all-terrain tires. Inside, it upgrades the experience with standard ventilated front seats and a specialized Jet Black perforated leather interior with Brandy accents. GCC buyers also benefit from the standard 2-speed transfer case and Hill Descent Control, which are essential for weekend desert excursions.

Yukon vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser, the Yukon offers a more modern digital experience with its 12-inch instrument cluster and Google built-in infotainment. Its massive fuel tank provides a significant range advantage for long desert crossings or trips across the border. While rivals focus on heavy-duty durability, the Yukon leads in cabin technology and highway ride refinement.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.3L V8 typically returns around 12 L/100km on the highway, making it a sustainable daily driver for the GCC's long-distance routes. GMC maintains a massive service network across the UAE and the wider region through Al Ghandi, Bin Hamoodah, and other authorized partners, ensuring parts availability is never an issue. The AT4 trim specifically enjoys a slower depreciation rate in the local market due to the high demand for off-road capable family SUVs.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 355 hp V8, this Yukon is capable of towing up to 3,492 kg when properly equipped, making it ideal for hauling boats or trailers. The AT4-exclusive approach angle and specialized 4WD system allow it to navigate sand dunes and gravel tracks that would stop road-biased crossovers. On the highway, the 10-speed automatic transmission keeps the engine in its optimal power band for effortless overtaking at speed.

Comfort & Cabin

This configuration offers rare 9+ seating potential, making it one of the most practical family movers in the region. The GCC-spec air conditioning system is engineered to handle 45°C+ summer heat, supported by dedicated rear vents and ventilated front seats. Cabin insulation is a highlight, providing a quiet sanctuary from wind noise during fast-paced highway drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a full suite of ADAS features like Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Mitigation, which are vital for the fast-moving multi-lane traffic found in Dubai and Riyadh. The AT4 also comes with a high-definition 360-degree camera system, making it surprisingly easy to park this large SUV in tight urban spaces. Stability control and specialized traction modes provide added security when transitioning from paved roads to loose sand.

The bottom line

This Yukon AT4 is the ideal match for a growing family that needs a rugged, tech-forward SUV with a proven track record for reliability in the harsh GCC climate.
