Summary

This GCC-spec 2022 Honda Accord Sport is a standout option in the used market, offering a perfect middle ground between high-performance daily driving and fuel efficiency. With its metallic Grey exterior—a color that consistently maintains high resale demand in the UAE—and a mileage profile that suggests careful ownership for its age, this sedan is mechanically primed for years of service. The Accord continues to lead its segment in cabin refinement and cargo space, making it a favorite for both families and executive commuters. For any GCC buyer, Honda’s reputation for robust air conditioning systems that laugh at 45°C summers remains the most compelling reason to choose this over its European rivals.

This Car vs Other 2022 Accords

At roughly 66,000 km, this unit sits comfortably within the expected mileage for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where long highway hauls between cities are standard. Its Grey paintwork is highly practical for the region, hiding desert dust better than black while commanding a stronger resale price than non-standard shades. Choosing a GCC-spec model ensures the cooling system and radiator are factory-hardened for the extreme heat of the Arabian Peninsula.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The Sport trim is a significant step up from the base LX, most notably adding 19-inch machine-finished alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel that elevate the cabin's feel. It also introduces paddle shifters for more engaged highway driving and a power-adjustable driver's seat with 12-way settings for superior comfort on long drives between Emirates. The exterior is further distinguished by a dark chrome grille and a gloss-black decklid spoiler that are absent on the entry-level models.

Accord vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Camry or Nissan Altima, the Accord leads with a class-leading 570-litre boot that easily accommodates golf clubs or full-sized family suitcases. Its turbocharged 1.5L engine provides more immediate torque for highway overtaking than the Camry's naturally aspirated unit, while its interior legroom remains the benchmark for the mid-size sedan segment. The Honda also benefits from a more sophisticated multi-link rear suspension, offering a flatter, more composed ride through high-speed highway curves.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is impressive for a sedan of this size, averaging 8.9 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Maintenance is straightforward with a massive authorized service network via Al Futtaim in the UAE and Abdullah Hashim in KSA, ensuring parts are always readily available. The Accord historically retains approximately 85% of its value after three years in the local market, outperforming almost everything in its class except the Toyota Camry.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine delivers a punchy 198 horsepower, allowing the Accord to reach 100 km/h in approximately 8.5 seconds. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is widely regarded as one of the best in the industry, specifically tuned to keep the engine in its torque band for effortless cruising at 140 km/h. While front-wheel drive, the Sport trim features specific chassis tuning that provides a sharper steering response, making it feel remarkably agile for a large sedan.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Accord offers an expansive cabin that rivals many full-size luxury cars for rear legroom, perfect for family road trips. The dual-zone climate control is engineered for the GCC, providing rapid cabin cooling even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Tech highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen with full smartphone integration and a premium 8-speaker audio system that comes standard on this Sport trim.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the 10th-generation Accord, featuring a comprehensive suite of airbags and advanced stability controls that are essential for high-speed highway traffic. Standard features include a multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, which makes parking this long sedan in tight city spots effortless. The vehicle’s reinforced body structure and high-performance braking system provide peace of mind for long-distance travel across GCC borders.

The bottom line

This Accord Sport is the ideal choice for a professional who needs a stylish, reliable executive sedan that holds its value and handles the UAE summer with ease. It represents a smart buy for those who want the look of a premium car without the high maintenance costs of a European brand.
