Summary

This 2022 Hyundai Tucson represents a significant leap forward in design and interior quality, making it a standout choice in the competitive compact SUV market. With its modern white exterior, a highly sought-after color for resale in the GCC, it offers both aesthetic appeal and practical value. The 2.5L engine provides a refined balance of power and efficiency, perfectly suited for the region's mix of city commuting and long-distance highway travel. Inside, the cabin is thoughtfully engineered for passenger comfort during hot summer months, featuring advanced climate controls and a spacious layout. For those seeking a reliable, high-spec family vehicle with a proven track record for durability across the Emirates, this Tucson is a compelling opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2022 Tucsons

With 100,000 km on the odometer, this Tucson is aligned with the average annual usage seen in the GCC market, where long commutes between cities are common. Its white exterior is the strongest color for local resale, offering excellent heat reflection and maintaining higher value than darker shades. For a 2022 model, this mileage reflects a vehicle that has been consistently used for highway travel, which is often preferable to heavy urban stop-start wear.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim elevates the experience significantly over the base SE, adding essential features that local buyers prioritize. It introduces proximity key entry with push-button start and smart cruise control, making long highway journeys across the Emirates much less demanding. Additionally, the interior is enhanced with rear air vents and dual-zone automatic climate control, ensuring all five passengers remain cool during the peak of summer.

Tucson vs Segment Rivals

The Tucson leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V in interior design and digital integration, offering a more futuristic cabin feel. Its boot capacity of 616 litres is one of the roomiest in its class, providing more vertical loading space than the Mazda CX-5 for family luggage. The wide rear aperture makes it exceptionally easy to stack large cases or gear for weekend trips to the desert or beach.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a strong point for the 2.5L FWD powertrain, averaging approximately 8.1 L/100km on the highway, which is ideal for the long stretches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hyundai maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, ensuring parts are readily available and affordable. While American-spec vehicles may have different warranty considerations, the Tucson’s popularity ensures high demand in the secondary market, with a typical 3-year value retention of approximately 75%.

Performance & Capability

The 190 hp 2.5-liter engine delivers smooth, predictable power that is well-suited for merging onto fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. With a front-wheel-drive configuration and an 8-speed automatic transmission, it offers a refined cruising experience that prioritizes comfort and fuel stability over raw speed. The 2,000 lbs towing capacity and 181 mm of ground clearance make it capable enough for gravel tracks and family camping trips without sacrificing city maneuverability.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is built around Hyundai's 'Furnished Space' concept, providing generous legroom of 41.3 inches in the rear, which is competitive even for larger SUVs. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is notably robust, supported by dedicated rear vents that distribute cool air quickly throughout the five-seat cabin. High-quality insulation ensures a quiet environment, shielding passengers from road noise and high external temperatures during long cross-country drives.

Safety

Safety is a priority in this trim, which features the SmartSense suite including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. These systems are particularly valuable on multi-lane GCC highways to help manage fast-moving traffic. The inclusion of Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance and a rear occupant alert system provides extra peace of mind for families, features that often require expensive packages on European competitors.

The bottom line

Perfect for the value-conscious family or professional, this 2022 Tucson in the region's favorite color offers the ideal mix of modern technology and proven Hyundai reliability.
