Summary

This 2022 Kia K5 EX offers an excellent balance of modern aesthetics and daily utility, particularly suited for those who prioritize features over raw speed. With a black exterior that holds strong resale value in the UAE, this sedan stands out for its premium-tier amenities often reserved for higher price brackets. The 2.0L engine is tuned for efficiency, making it an ideal choice for urban commuting in stop-start traffic where fuel economy is paramount. As a four-year-old vehicle, it provides a contemporary driving experience with the reassurance of one of the region's most accessible service networks. This listing represents a smart middle-ground for buyers who want an executive-looking sedan without the overhead of a larger engine.

This Car vs Other 2022 K5s

At 65,000 km, this vehicle sits at a typical mileage for a four-year-old car in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 20,000 km due to highway commuting. The black exterior is a high-demand color in the local market, ensuring better value retention compared to niche shades. While many base-model K5s found locally are basic fleet-spec versions, this EX trim offers a significant step up in interior refinement and tech.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim adds several high-value features that GCC buyers prioritize, most notably ventilated front seats which are essential for the local summer heat. It also upgrades the cabin experience with a large panoramic sunroof and wood-graphic interior accents that are absent on the LX and LXS trims. Additionally, you benefit from a wireless charging pad and the enhanced Parking Distance Warning system for easier city maneuvering.

K5 vs Segment Rivals

The K5 competes directly with the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata, leading its class in terms of bold, futuristic styling and standard interior tech for the price. While the Camry is known for its mechanical simplicity, the K5 EX offers a more feature-rich environment with a focus on cabin comfort and digital integration. Its generous boot space makes it highly competitive for family duties compared to smaller rivals like the Altima.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L powertrain is highly efficient for GCC city driving, with real-world consumption staying competitive in heavy traffic. Kia maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are affordable and widely available. As a popular sedan, the K5 enjoys a stable depreciation curve, typically retaining around 60-65% of its value at the three-year mark in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 155 hp produced by the 2.0L engine is delivered smoothly through a 6-speed automatic transmission, focusing on linear power delivery for highway cruising. It handles long-distance drives between emirates with ease, offering a quiet cabin even at typical highway speeds. While not designed for performance sprints, the Front Wheel Drive setup provides predictable handling and stability on both wet tarmac and sandy road shoulders.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the EX trim features high-quality SynTex seating and a driver-centric cockpit designed for long-range comfort. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered to cope with extreme GCC temperatures, supported by dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The inclusion of a panoramic sunroof provides an airy feel to the cabin, while acoustic insulation helps minimize road noise during high-speed travel.

Safety

This K5 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, which are particularly helpful for maintaining focus on fast-moving multi-lane highways. Standard electronic stability control and a multi-airbag system ensure high levels of protection. The rear parking sensors and high-definition camera provide added confidence in tight urban parking scenarios common in Dubai and Riyadh.

The bottom line

This K5 EX is the perfect match for a professional or small family looking for a stylish, feature-packed sedan with the reliability and service support of a major GCC brand.
