Summary

This 2022 Kia K8 EX DLX represents a sophisticated leap into the executive sedan market, offering a premium driving experience that rivals established luxury brands. With its 3.5-litre V6 engine, it provides effortless highway performance, while the grey exterior maintains a high resale appeal within the GCC used market. At 4 years old and having covered 66,000 km, its mileage is very low for a vehicle of this age, sitting well below the typical annual average for the region. The interior is defined by a futuristic curved display and high-quality materials, making it a standout choice for those seeking modern tech and refinement. For GCC buyers, the strong authorized service network and the model's proven reliability in high temperatures offer significant peace of mind.

This Car vs Other 2022 K8s

With just 66,000 km on the odometer, this K8 has been driven significantly less than the typical 80,000 to 100,000 km expected for a 4-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The grey exterior is a highly sought-after, high-resale color in the local market, offering a practical yet executive look that holds its value better than more niche shades. Being the Smartstream GDi V6 model, it offers the preferred high-output powertrain sought by regional buyers for long-distance highway stability.

EX DLX vs Lower Trims

The EX DLX trim elevates the cabin experience far beyond the base LX or standard EX models, introducing premium touches like the panoramic curved digital cockpit and upgraded upholstery. It typically adds essential GCC comforts such as ventilated seating and a more advanced driver assistance suite, including a 360-degree camera system for easier parking. The audio system and climate control are also stepped up, providing a multi-zone experience that is vital for keeping all passengers comfortable during the summer months.

K8 vs Segment Rivals

The K8 leads its primary rivals, the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima, by offering a more contemporary interior architecture dominated by its massive curved screens. Its 510-litre boot provides superior luggage capacity for family trips compared to the Maxima, while the 3.5-litre V6 delivers a smoother, more refined power delivery than the smaller turbocharged units found in some European competitors. The long wheelbase ensures rear legroom is among the most generous in the segment, catering to executive transport needs.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 engine is engineered for efficiency on the open road, with real-world highway fuel consumption proving competitive for a large sedan of this power class. Kia's extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC ensures that maintenance is straightforward and parts are readily available, protecting the car's long-term value. Historical data indicates that the K8 maintains a strong residual value, retaining approximately 75% of its worth over the first three years, which is excellent for the executive sedan segment.

Performance & Capability

Generating 296 hp and 359 Nm of torque, the 3.5-litre V6 allows the K8 to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.4 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, ensuring a relaxed cabin environment even at cruising speeds. While designed for the road, the front-wheel-drive setup is supported by multiple drive modes that adapt the traction and steering feel to suit different driving conditions, from city traffic to long desert stretches.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of modern tech, featuring the integrated 12.3-inch cluster and infotainment screens that form a seamless panoramic display. Thoughtful GCC-focused features include powerful air conditioning with dedicated rear vents and acoustic glass that significantly reduces outside road and wind noise. The five-seat layout is designed with premium ergonomics, offering ventilated front seats to combat the high regional temperatures and ensure a fatigue-free experience on cross-border drives.

Safety

This trim comes standard with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Forward Collision-Avoidance, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Lane Following Assist, which are crucial for navigating busy multi-lane highways. The 360-degree camera provides a bird's-eye view, making the large sedan easy to maneuver in tight urban spaces. Additionally, a full array of airbags and a high-strength chassis provide top-tier passive safety for all five occupants.

The bottom line

This low-mileage Kia K8 is the perfect opportunity for an executive or family buyer looking for a technologically advanced, high-performance sedan with excellent resale potential in the GCC market.
