Summary

This 2023 Kia K8 GLS TOP represents a sophisticated choice in the executive sedan segment, offering a premium alternative to traditional luxury brands. With a 300 hp V6 and a striking Grey exterior, it commands a strong presence on UAE roads while maintaining better resale resilience than European rivals. At three years old with 66,000 km, the mileage is well within the expected range for a high-end commuter in the GCC, suggesting the vehicle has primarily handled long-distance highway miles rather than heavy urban wear. The Korean regional spec ensures you are getting the flagship equipment levels often sought by tech-focused buyers in the region. This model stands out for its futuristic 'tiger-nose' grille and expansive cabin that bridges the gap between value and true luxury.

This Car vs Other 2023 Kia K8s

With 66,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle’s usage is average for a 3-year-old car in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km annually is the standard. The Grey exterior is a highly desirable shade in the local market, offering excellent heat reflection and maintaining stronger resale value than bolder, less traditional colors.

GLS TOP vs Lower Trims

As the flagship GLS TOP trim, this vehicle adds critical luxury features over the LX and EX models, including the 12.3-inch curved panoramic display and a premium 14-speaker Meridian audio system. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the addition of ventilated front and rear seats, a 360-degree Surround View Monitor, and the advanced Ergo Motion driver’s seat designed for long-distance comfort.

Kia K8 vs Segment Rivals

The K8 competes directly with the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima, leading the segment with a more contemporary, tech-heavy interior and a superior wheelbase that translates to class-leading rear legroom. Its 3.5L V6 provides smoother power delivery for highway overtaking compared to the turbocharged four-cylinder engines found in some European executive competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L GDI engine averages approximately 9.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a large V6 during inter-emirate highway cruising. Kia enjoys an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts availability and predictable maintenance costs. While European sedans typically depreciate at 12-18% annually in the GCC, the K8 tends to hold its value more effectively at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5-litre V6 engine delivers a verified 300 hp and 359 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 6.9 seconds. This power is managed by a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission that is specifically tuned for quiet, high-speed highway stability. Multiple drive modes allow you to sharpen the throttle response for city traffic or optimize efficiency for the long stretches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a highlight of Korean executive engineering, featuring high-quality leather and three-zone climate control to keep all five passengers cool in peak summer heat. Acoustic glass and reinforced insulation significantly reduce road noise, creating a serene environment for business calls or family trips. The 510-litre boot easily accommodates luggage for cross-border road trips or multiple golf bags.

Safety

This trim includes Kia’s full 'Drive Wise' ADAS suite, featuring Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot View Monitor, which displays a camera feed of your blind spot directly in the digital cluster. For long GCC highway drives, the Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control automatically adjusts speed for curves and speed zones. A total of 9 airbags and a robust 360-degree camera system provide comprehensive protection and parking ease.

The bottom line

This K8 GLS TOP is the ideal match for an executive or family looking for flagship technology and V6 smoothness without the steep depreciation of a German badge. It is a mechanically sound, high-spec opportunity that is perfectly seasoned for the local market.
