Summary

This specific G63 AMG stands as one of the most desirable examples currently available in the GCC market, combining a striking and highly resale-friendly exterior with the peace of mind of a regional specification. Its current mileage is perfectly aligned with the expected usage for a premium 2022 SUV in the region, ensuring the mechanical components remain in their prime. As a GCC spec vehicle, it has been engineered to withstand the unique environmental demands of the Middle East, from the high-speed transit between Abu Dhabi and Dubai to the intense summer heat. While rivals in the luxury SUV segment offer comfort, few can match the raw performance and the iconic status this model commands on local roads. The inclusion of the hand-built V8 engine ensures an level of exclusivity and mechanical integrity that serious enthusiasts look for. This listing represents a strategic purchase for a buyer who values immediate availability of a high-demand vehicle that traditionally suffers far less depreciation than its European peers. For any GCC owner, the combination of a robust cooling system and a massive service network makes this the definitive choice for a daily-driven performance icon.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

When looking at 2022 G63 AMG models in the used market, this example sits in a very favorable position regarding its usage and maintenance profile. With just over 51,000 km, the vehicle has been driven approximately 25,000 km per year, which is the standard average for highway-centric driving in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This level of use indicates the car has been regularly cycled and maintained rather than sitting idle, which is often better for the air conditioning seals and high-performance gaskets in this climate. The unique Green exterior is a particular standout; while white and black are common, this specific shade has become a cult favorite in the GCC, often commanding a premium and selling faster than standard tones. Buyers will find that most 2022 models currently available have either significantly higher mileage or are non-GCC specs, making this regional version a much safer long-term investment. Choosing a GCC spec ensures that the radiator, condenser, and internal cooling components are specifically sized for 45°C+ temperatures, a critical factor for any buyer in the region.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

In the world of the G-Class, the G63 AMG is the flagship, sitting far above the G500 or diesel variants found in other markets. This trim introduces the handcrafted 4.0L Biturbo V8 engine, which is a significant step up in both prestige and performance compared to the standard V8 engines. Inside, the trim upgrades the experience with the full Burmester Surround Sound system and an enhanced MBUX interface designed for high-performance monitoring. GCC buyers specifically benefit from the upgraded climate control hardware and the multi-contour ventilated seating that comes standard on this performance tier, features that are often optional or less robust on lower trims. The exterior is differentiated by the signature Panamericana grille and the side-exit exhaust system, which are high-value aesthetic markers in the local market. Furthermore, the G63 AMG features reinforced suspension components and a more sophisticated AMG-tuned All Wheel Drive system that provides better stability on the fast-moving, multi-lane highways typical of the region.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 AMG occupies a unique space in the GCC market, often cross-shopped with the Range Rover Autobiography and the Lamborghini Urus. While the Urus offers higher top speeds, the G63 AMG leads significantly in terms of rugged capability and its ability to handle varied terrain, from urban curbs to weekend desert excursions. Compared to the Range Rover, the Mercedes maintains a much stronger resale value in the UAE and Kuwait, largely due to its iconic, unchanging design and a reputation for mechanical durability. The 577 hp output allows it to compete with pure sports cars, yet it provides a commanding driving position that many GCC drivers prefer for better visibility in heavy highway traffic. Additionally, the G63 AMG offers three independent locking differentials, a feature that rivals simply do not provide, giving it genuine off-road credentials that match its luxury status. Its cooling system is also widely regarded as one of the most efficient in the segment, ensuring cabin temperatures drop rapidly even after the car has been parked in the direct sun.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership of a G63 AMG in the GCC is characterized by its remarkable value retention, often losing only 10-12% of its value annually compared to the 18% seen in other luxury SUVs. This makes it one of the safest financial placements in the automotive world, especially in the UAE where demand for the G-Wagon remains perennially high. Fuel consumption for the 4.0L V8 is expected for a performance vehicle of this weight, averaging around 14.5 L/100km on the highway, though city driving in Riyadh or Dubai traffic will see this figure rise. The vehicle requires high-octane Super 98 fuel to maintain the health of its hand-built engine, which is readily available at all regional stations. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months, and Mercedes-Benz has one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks across the GCC, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. Because this is a GCC spec car, it remains eligible for regional service packages and retains a higher trade-in value than its North American or European counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the 577 hp hand-built V8, which propels this SUV from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. This performance is particularly useful for overtaking on the E11 or other major arterial roads where rapid acceleration is a safety feature. The 9-speed automatic transmission is tuned for both comfort in city traffic and high-speed efficiency on long-distance hauls between emirates. With a ground clearance of 241 mm and a low-range transfer case, the G63 AMG is as capable in the sand as it is on the tarmac, making it a favorite for those who enjoy luxury camping or desert exploration. The triple-locking differentials are a hallmark of the model, allowing the driver to navigate challenging surfaces that would stop most other luxury crossovers in their tracks. Despite its boxy profile, the car feels incredibly stable at speed thanks to the AMG Ride Control suspension, which electronically adjusts to road conditions in real-time. Whether you are towing a boat to the marina or navigating a sudden sandstorm, the mechanical capability of this vehicle provides an unmatched sense of security.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is a sanctuary designed to isolate passengers from the harsh Middle Eastern environment. The five-seat layout provides ample headroom and legroom, with high-quality leather upholstery that is treated to resist heat absorption. The dual 12.3-inch widescreen displays provide all necessary navigation and infotainment, while the Burmester audio system delivers concert-hall quality sound that remains clear even over the roar of the V8. A key highlight for GCC owners is the powerful dual-zone climate control system, which is complemented by ventilated front seats that provide active cooling during the summer months. The insulation is top-tier, significantly reducing wind noise during high-speed highway cruising, which is essential for long trips across the desert. Rear passengers also benefit from dedicated air vents and a spacious bench that comfortably fits three adults, making it an excellent choice for family outings. The boot space is versatile and large enough to accommodate luggage for a long weekend road trip to Salalah or AlUla without compromising passenger comfort.

Safety

Safety in the G63 AMG is handled by a suite of advanced technologies designed for the unique challenges of GCC roads. The Distronic adaptive cruise control is particularly effective on long desert stretches, maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles automatically. Blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist provide vital support during lane changes on fast-moving six-lane highways where visibility can sometimes be a challenge. The vehicle is equipped with a high-resolution 360-degree camera system, which is indispensable for parking such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces like the Dubai Mall or downtown Riyadh. In the event of a collision, the rigid ladder-frame chassis and a comprehensive array of airbags provide maximum protection for all five occupants. Furthermore, the active brake assist can detect pedestrians or obstacles and apply emergency braking, a critical feature for busy city centers. The stability control is also specifically tuned to handle the high center of gravity, ensuring the car remains planted during sudden maneuvers on sand-dusted asphalt.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking the definitive GCC luxury icon, this 2022 G63 AMG offers the perfect balance of regional reliability, a highly desirable color, and a mileage profile that promises years of high-performance driving. It remains the smartest financial choice in the premium SUV segment, combining unmatched off-road heritage with a presence that nothing else on the road can replicate.
