Summary

This 2022 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG with the BRABUS G800 upgrade represents the absolute peak of luxury performance in the GCC market. With mileage that reflects typical highway usage between major cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, it remains in peak mechanical condition for its age. The grey exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the region, ensuring it holds its value significantly better than more niche shades. While standard models are common on UAE roads, this specific BRABUS-enhanced version offers a level of exclusivity that collectors and enthusiasts specifically seek out. It dominates its segment by offering a blend of genuine off-road heritage and supercar-level acceleration that few other SUVs can match. For a buyer looking to make a statement while maintaining the reliability of a modern German powertrain, this listing offers a rare opportunity to own a modified icon without the wait times of a fresh build.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

When looking at 2022 models in the GCC, the mileage on this G63 AMG sits comfortably within the expected range for a vehicle used as a primary daily driver on the UAE's high-speed highway network. While many examples are kept as secondary cars, this vehicle's usage suggests it has been consistently run and maintained rather than sitting idle in a garage, which is often better for the long-term health of the air suspension and rubber seals in the desert heat. The grey exterior is a massive advantage for resale value in this region, as it is highly resistant to showing the fine dust common in the GCC and remains much cooler under the sun than black alternatives. Compared to a standard stock G63 AMG, the BRABUS G800 modifications elevate this specific unit into a different tier of desirability. It offers a unique visual and performance profile that standard dealership models simply cannot provide, making it a standout choice for those who value individuality. Choosing a 2022 model also means you benefit from the most refined iteration of the current generation's interior technology before any mid-cycle refreshes.

BRABUS G800 vs Lower Trims

The jump from a standard G63 AMG to the BRABUS G800 trim is substantial, transforming the car from a luxury SUV into a bespoke performance machine. This trim adds a significant power boost and a completely overhauled aesthetic, including the iconic Widestar body kit and larger forged wheels that are highly prized in the GCC. Inside, you typically find upgraded leather craftsmanship and carbon fiber accents that surpass the standard Mercedes Benz factory finish. One of the most critical upgrades for the local market is the enhanced exhaust system, which provides a much more resonant V8 growl that is a signature of Dubai’s automotive culture. Additionally, the BRABUS G800 often includes specialized lighting and aerodynamic components that improve road presence and stability at the high speeds common on the E11 highway. While a base G63 AMG is a formidable vehicle, the BRABUS G800 adds a layer of hand-finished exclusivity and performance tuning that justifies its position at the top of the hierarchy.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

In the world of high-performance luxury SUVs, the G63 AMG faces competition from the Lamborghini Urus and the Range Rover Autobiography. While the Urus focuses on track-like handling and the Range Rover on serene comfort, the G63 AMG leads both when it comes to iconic design and genuine off-road capability. It features three independent locking differentials, a mechanical feature that neither the Urus nor many other luxury rivals can boast, making it the king of the Liwa dunes if ever called upon. Its upright seating position provides a commanding view of traffic that is superior to the more car-like cockpits of its rivals. Furthermore, the G-Class has a much larger fuel tank than many sporty competitors, which is a major benefit for those frequenting the long stretches of road between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The sheer presence of the G-Wagon also carries a level of social prestige in the GCC that is unmatched by more aerodynamic, modern-looking SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a BRABUS G800 in the GCC involves costs consistent with the highest tier of European luxury vehicles. Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine is roughly 16-18L/100km in heavy city traffic like Downtown Dubai, though this improves to around 13L/100km on steady highway cruises. It requires top-tier 98-octane Super petrol to maintain the performance of its hand-built engine. Service intervals are generally every 15,000 km or 12 months, and while this is a European spec model, the major service centers in the UAE are well-equipped to handle Mercedes-AMG products. Parts for the BRABUS components may require slightly longer lead times compared to standard parts, but the network for high-end tuning brands is very robust in the region. Historically, the G63 AMG holds its value exceptionally well in the GCC, often depreciating at a slower rate than the Range Rover or Porsche Cayenne. The BRABUS badge further protects this value, as these modified units are always in high demand in the pre-owned market.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this beast is the 585 hp V8 engine, which, in its G800 configuration, delivers acceleration that feels physics-defying for a vehicle of this shape. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds, putting it in the same league as many dedicated sports cars. This power is managed by a 9-speed automatic transmission and a permanent All-Wheel Drive system that provides immense grip even on gravel or sand-covered road shoulders. The ground clearance is among the best in its class, allowing it to navigate rough terrain or deep sand with ease during weekend escapes. Despite its boxy aerodynamics, the G63 AMG is surprisingly stable at high speeds thanks to its sophisticated AMG Ride Control suspension. Whether you are overtaking on the highway or navigating the rugged wadis of the northern emirates, the performance is always effortless and immediate. The triple-locking differentials ensure that even in the most challenging off-road conditions, the vehicle can find traction where others would get stuck.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the G63 AMG offers a sanctuary of high-tech luxury designed to combat the extreme GCC heat. The air conditioning system is legendary for its power, capable of cooling the cabin in minutes even after it has been parked in the summer sun. This model features highly adjustable seats with ventilation and heating, ensuring comfort regardless of the season. The dual 12.3-inch widescreen displays provide a modern interface for navigation and media, while the Burmester surround sound system offers an immersive audio experience. Legroom in the front and rear is generous, and the high roofline provides a sense of airiness that more sloping SUVs lack. For long drives across the desert, the cabin insulation is excellent, keeping wind and road noise to a minimum. The interior materials, from the Nappa leather to the carbon fiber trim, are of the highest quality, reflecting the hand-built nature of the vehicle’s powertrain.

Safety

Safety in the G63 AMG is comprehensive, featuring a suite of advanced driver assistance systems that are particularly helpful on GCC roads. Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist make the long, straight drives between Emirates much less taxing, while Blind Spot Monitoring is essential for the fast-paced lane changes typical of Dubai traffic. The vehicle is built on a heavy-duty ladder-frame chassis, providing a robust physical barrier in the event of a collision. It also features a 360-degree camera system that is vital for parking such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces. Active Brake Assist can detect potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians and apply the brakes automatically, adding an extra layer of security. Mercedes Benz’s Pre-Safe system is also standard, which prepares the cabin for an impact by tightening seatbelts and closing windows if a collision is detected.

The bottom line

This BRABUS G800 is the perfect choice for a buyer who wants the ultimate expression of the G-Wagon's power and prestige. With its iconic grey finish and high-performance tuning, it offers a ready-to-drive alternative to a factory order that would typically take months to arrive in this specification.
