Summary

This GCC-spec sedan offers a compelling entry into the latest generation of flagship luxury, featuring a refined mild-hybrid powertrain that balances executive performance with improved efficiency. With 50,000 km on the clock, this silver example sits at a typical mileage for a three-year-old vehicle in the UAE, where highway commutes are standard. The exterior color is highly favored in the local market, ensuring it remains a strong choice for future resale compared to unconventional shades. As the benchmark for its segment, this model provides a level of cabin isolation and technological integration that remains a step ahead of its immediate rivals. For a buyer in the GCC, the combination of regional cooling specifications and a robust service network makes this a secure and prestigious daily driver.

This Car vs Other 2022 S500s

At 50,000 km, this vehicle has covered approximately 16,500 km per year, which is lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC average for executive sedans. The silver exterior is a top-tier choice for the UAE climate, reflecting heat more effectively than darker tones while maintaining the highest possible liquidity in the used market. This mileage and color combination represents a balanced buying opportunity for those seeking a modern flagship that has passed its initial steep depreciation phase.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The S500 sits above the S450, offering a significant power advantage of 62 hp and the inclusion of rear-axle steering as a common regional standard to improve maneuverability. This trim includes the high-resolution 12.8-inch OLED central display and augmented reality navigation, features that are often optional or simplified on entry-level luxury sedans. For GCC buyers, the standard inclusion of ventilated front seats and the Burmester 3D audio system provides the essential comfort required for long-distance desert highway travel.

S500 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW 740i and Audi A8, the S500 leads with a more comprehensive suite of standard safety technology, including a segment-first center airbag. Its 3.0-litre inline-six produces 429 hp, outclassing the base output of the 7 Series, which is particularly noticeable during high-speed overtaking on the E11. The AIRMATIC suspension is widely regarded as the most refined in this class, providing superior vibration damping on uneven road surfaces compared to its sportier German counterparts.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this mild-hybrid averages approximately 9.9 L/100km, offering a range of over 800 km on a single tank—ideal for cross-emirate travel. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with recommended intervals typically every 15,000 km or 12 months for GCC-spec models. Historically, this model retains its value better than the BMW 7 Series in the local market, benefiting from a 5–7% higher residual value after three years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The S500 delivers a factory-claimed 0–100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds, supported by the EQ Boost system which provides an additional 21 hp and 250 Nm of torque for instantaneous low-end response. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is tuned for seamless shifts, ensuring the engine stays in its optimal power band during steep mountain climbs in Jebel Hafeet. Standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive ensures maximum traction during the occasional heavy rain or on sandy road shoulders.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of technology, featuring 64-color active ambient lighting that integrates with the vehicle’s safety systems to pulse in red if a collision is detected. Both front seats offer massage functions, heating, and high-performance ventilation, which are critical for maintaining comfort when external temperatures exceed 45°C. Double-glazed acoustic glass significantly reduces wind noise, allowing the 15-speaker Burmester system to deliver studio-quality sound even at highway speeds.

Safety

This S500 is equipped with the full Driving Assistance Package, including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and Active Steering Assist for effortless lane-keeping on long highway stretches. The Pre-Safe Impulse Side system can even raise the vehicle body by up to 80 mm immediately before a side impact to direct crash forces toward the strongest part of the chassis. GCC-specific blind-spot monitoring is particularly effective here, calibrated for the high-speed, multi-lane traffic environments common in major Gulf cities.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec S500 is the ideal choice for a professional seeking the definitive luxury experience with a market-proven color and sensible mileage. It offers a sophisticated balance of modern tech and traditional prestige that few other listings can match in this price bracket.
