Summary

This 2022 Mercedes-Benz S500 4MATIC L is a prime example of the W223 generation, offering a perfect balance of modern hybrid efficiency and flagship presence. At four years old with 54,000 km, the mileage is slightly below the typical GCC annual average, making it a mechanically fresh choice for the executive buyer. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring the strongest possible resale value and superior heat reflection during the summer months. As a GCC-spec long-wheelbase model, it provides the essential rear legroom and localized cooling systems required for comfortable cross-emirate travel. This listing represents a strategic entry into the current-gen S-Class at a point where the steepest initial depreciation has already occurred.

This Car vs Other 2022 S500s

With 54,000 km over four years, this S500 has been driven approximately 13,500 km per year, which is significantly lower than the 20,000–25,000 km average typical for luxury sedans in the GCC. The white exterior is a major advantage for local buyers, as it is the highest-demand color in the UAE and Saudi markets for both heat management and future trade-in value. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains full compatibility with regional service centers and carries the cooling hardware designed for 50°C+ summer peaks.

4MATIC L vs Lower Trims

The 4MATIC L trim is the long-wheelbase variant, adding significant rear cabin space that the standard wheelbase models lack—a critical feature for chauffeur-driven owners in the region. Unlike entry-level luxury sedans, this S500 comes standard with the 12.8-inch OLED central display and the sophisticated Burmester 3D audio system. It also features standard Airmatic suspension and rear-axle steering, which significantly improves maneuverability in tight city parking and stability on fast-moving highways.

S500 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8, the S500 leads the segment in cabin technology integration with its MBUX augmented reality navigation and superior sound insulation. The 3.0L mild-hybrid powertrain offers smoother stop-start transitions in heavy Riyadh or Dubai traffic compared to the more traditional engines in many rivals. Additionally, the S-Class historically maintains the highest brand prestige and demand in the GCC used market, often resulting in a quicker sale at a higher price point than its peers.

Running Costs & Resale

The mild-hybrid inline-six engine provides a real-world fuel economy of approximately 8.0L/100km on long highway stretches between emirates, while city driving typically sees around 11.4L/100km. Service intervals are managed by the Assyst Plus system, generally occurring every 15,000 km at authorized Mercedes-Benz centers, which are extensively available across all GCC nations. While European luxury sedans typically depreciate by 12–15% annually in this market, the S-Class W223 generation is currently showing stronger-than-average value retention due to its high tech-appeal.

Performance & Capability

The S500 delivers a refined 435 hp and 520 Nm of torque, allowing it to reach 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on the E11. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional grip during rare rain events and on the fine sand that often covers desert highways. The 9G-TRONIC transmission is tuned for imperceptible shifts, focusing on passenger comfort, while the selectable drive modes allow the driver to firm up the air suspension for more spirited highway transitions.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat cabin is a sanctuary featuring ventilated and massaging front seats that are essential for the GCC climate. The panoramic sunroof features high-quality solar tinting to keep the cabin cool, while the multi-zone climate control system is engineered to rapidly drop temperatures even after the car has been parked in direct sun. Rear passengers benefit from the extended wheelbase, offering expansive legroom and dedicated climate vents for total comfort during long-distance trips.

Safety

This S500 is equipped with the complete Mercedes-Benz Driver Assistance Package, featuring Active Distance Assist Distronic and Active Steering Assist for relaxed long-range cruising. Standard safety features include a 360° surround-view camera for effortless parking, Pre-Safe Impulse Side, and a sophisticated array of airbags including innovative rear-seat frontal airbags. The active blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping systems are particularly effective on the high-speed, multi-lane highways common throughout the region.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec S500 is the ideal choice for an executive seeking the current-generation S-Class experience with below-average mileage and the region's preferred color specification. It offers the perfect balance of immediate luxury and long-term resale security in the GCC market.
