Summary

This 2022 Nissan Kicks S is a smart entry point into the compact crossover market, offering a balance of modern styling and exceptional running costs. While the mileage reflects active use, its GCC-specific cooling systems and simple 1.6L powertrain are built to handle the region's intense heat and stop-start traffic without fuss. The black exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice in the UAE, supporting steady resale value when it's time to upgrade. As a nimble five-seater, it excels at navigating tight urban environments like Dubai and Riyadh while remaining comfortable for inter-emirate highway runs. For a practical buyer, the Kicks stands out as one of the most reliable and easy-to-maintain vehicles currently available in the GCC used market.

This Car vs Other 2022 Nissan Kickss

With approximately 109,397 km on the odometer, this Kicks has seen regular use typical of a daily commuter in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 25,000 km. While the mileage is slightly above the global average, it is consistent for a three-year-old vehicle in this region's highway-heavy environment. The black exterior remains a resilient choice for local resale, ensuring a broad pool of interested buyers in the secondary market.

S vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim, the Kicks S provides all the essential tech GCC buyers look for, including a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It features standard push-button start and crucial safety tech like Blind Spot Warning, which is often an expensive option on rivals. Choosing the S trim ensures you get the core Kicks experience and Nissan's famous fuel efficiency without the added maintenance complexity of high-end electronic features.

Kicks vs Segment Rivals

The Kicks leads its class in practicality, offering a massive 716 litres of cargo space that easily outperforms rivals like the Hyundai Venue or Toyota Raize. Its 1.6L engine provides a more relaxed highway cruising experience than the smaller turbocharged units found in some competitors, making it better suited for long GCC desert drives. Additionally, Nissan’s air conditioning systems are widely regarded in the region for their ability to maintain cabin comfort during peak summer temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

The Nissan Kicks is a leader in efficiency, achieving a combined 7.2 L/100km, which keeps ownership costs low even with heavy daily use. Parts availability is excellent across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman thanks to one of the most extensive service networks in the Middle East. Historically, the Kicks maintains strong value retention, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European counterparts due to its reputation for long-term mechanical durability.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder engine producing 122 hp, the Kicks is tuned for urban agility and efficient highway overtaking. The Xtronic CVT ensures smooth power delivery, helping the car achieve a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 10.7 seconds. While designed primarily for the pavement, its generous ground clearance is perfect for navigating the speed bumps and gravel access roads common across GCC residential communities.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Kicks offers a surprisingly roomy cabin for a subcompact SUV, featuring 60/40-split folding rear seats for versatile storage. The air conditioning is specifically engineered for the GCC, ensuring rapid cooling even after the car has been parked in the sun. Standard cabin highlights include a user-friendly 7-inch display, metallic interior accents, and integrated steering wheel controls for a modern driving experience.

Safety

The 2022 Kicks S comes equipped with Nissan Safety Shield 360, providing a comprehensive suite of protection for the region's fast-moving highways. This includes Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. The inclusion of Rear Automatic Braking and rear parking sensors as standard makes it one of the easiest and safest small SUVs to park in crowded city centres.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious professional or a small family, this GCC-spec Kicks offers modern tech and proven reliability at a price point that reflects its honest mileage.
