Summary

This 2022 Nissan Pathfinder SV is a standout choice for families, offering the ideal balance of mileage and age for the GCC market. With 89,000 km, it has been driven at a typical regional pace, ensuring the robust V6 engine is well-settled for many more years of service. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the Emirates, providing a clear advantage for future resale value and heat reflection during peak summer. As the first year of the redesigned fifth generation, this model leapfrogs older rivals with a modern 9-speed automatic and a much more premium cabin. For any buyer needing eight-seat versatility and Nissan's legendary reliability in the Gulf, this GCC-spec SUV represents a secure long-term investment.

This Car vs Other 2022 Pathfinders

With 89,000 km, this vehicle sits comfortably within the expected 20,000–25,000 km annual range for GCC family SUVs, suggesting regular highway use rather than harsh city stop-start wear. The white paint is the strongest performing resale color in the regional market, and being a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains full compatibility with authorized service centers across the UAE and wider Gulf.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a significant upgrade over the base S, adding features essential for local comfort including a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat and remote engine start—a must-have for cooling the cabin before entry in the summer. It also introduces ProPILOT Assist, providing adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping intervention that makes long desert highway drives between emirates significantly less fatiguing.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder leads competitors like the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot in pure towing capability, boasting a 2,722 kg (6,000 lbs) limit that is perfect for hauling jet skis or trailers. Its intelligent 4WD system features seven dedicated terrain modes including a specific 'Sand' mode, giving it a distinct edge for weekend outings compared to more road-biased crossovers in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this V6 averages approximately 10.5 to 11.0 L/100km, performing efficiently on long-distance highway runs typical of the region. Maintenance is straightforward and cost-effective thanks to Nissan's massive parts distribution network across the GCC. Historically, the Pathfinder enjoys strong value retention, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European counterparts in the UAE market.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L V6 delivers a smooth 271 hp, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. The transition from the old CVT to the new 9-speed automatic transmission has transformed the driving experience, offering much crisper response and better heat management during the high-temperature months. With selectable drive modes and all-wheel drive, it handles gravel tracks and light desert dunes with surprising composure.

Comfort & Cabin

This SV configuration maximizes family utility with a full eight-seat layout, utilizing the EZ-FLEX seating system for simple third-row access. The tri-zone climate control is engineered for the Gulf, featuring powerful rear vents that ensure all passengers stay cool even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. Acoustic glass and improved insulation make the cabin remarkably quiet, shielding occupants from highway wind noise during cross-country trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite as standard, including blind-spot intervention and rear cross-traffic alert—critical for navigating busy multi-lane roads like Sheikh Zayed Road. The SV trim's addition of Intelligent Lane Intervention and emergency braking with pedestrian detection provides an extra layer of security for family transport. It also features a 360-degree view monitor in some configurations to assist with parking this large SUV in tight city spaces.

The bottom line

This Pathfinder is the perfect match for a growing family that needs a reliable, GCC-ready 8-seater that holds its value better than almost anything else in its segment.
