Summary

This 2023 Nissan X-Terra SE offers a compelling entry into the modern seven-seater SUV market, combining a reliable 2.5L powertrain with a focus on long-term GCC ownership. With mileage that reflects typical regional highway use for its age, this unit remains a robust choice for families needing space without the premium of a full-size 4x4. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the GCC, ensuring maximum heat reflection during peak summer and higher resale liquidity later. For the UAE buyer, this model stands out for its blend of rugged body-on-frame durability and modern interior refinements. It provides a balanced package that handles daily city commutes and long inter-emirate highway runs with equal composure.

This Car vs Other 2023 X Terras

With just over 100,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for a two-year-old GCC-based SUV, where long-distance highway driving is standard. The white exterior is the top-performing color for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, offering a significant advantage over darker shades. As a GCC-spec unit, it benefits from an air conditioning system and cooling components optimized for extreme desert heat.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE trim serves as a significant upgrade over the entry-level XE, introducing 17-inch alloy wheels and integrated roof rails that enhance its utility. Inside, the SE features a larger 7-inch advanced driver-assist display and the convenience of an Intelligent Key with push-button start. It also includes essential driver aids like rear parking sensors and a rearview camera that are often absent on base configurations.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra leads rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in terms of ride refinement and cabin noise insulation. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for cross-border trips or long drives between Riyadh and Dubai. Furthermore, the Nissan's zero-gravity seat technology offers superior long-distance comfort compared to the firmer seating found in many body-on-frame competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine achieves a combined fuel economy of approximately 11.4 km/L, making it a predictable performer in GCC stop-start traffic. Nissan maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, keeping maintenance straightforward and parts readily available. This model historically retains its value well in the local market, typically seeing a depreciation rate of just 8-10% annually for GCC-spec units.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine producing 165 hp and 241 Nm of torque, this SUV is built for steady highway cruising and reliable daily duty. The 243 mm ground clearance is among the best in its class, allowing for confident navigation of high kerbs and gravel tracks common in regional suburban areas. Its 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts, ensuring a relaxed experience on the E11 and other major regional arteries.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, featuring a second row that easily tumbles forward to allow simple access to the third row. A dedicated rear climate control system with roof-mounted vents ensures all three rows stay cool during the harsh GCC summer. Acoustic glass is standard on this trim, helping to isolate the cabin from wind noise during high-speed highway travel.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including dual front airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and Vehicle Dynamic Control. The SE trim specifically adds a rearview camera and rear parking sensors to aid in tight city parking. Nissan's Hill Start Assist is also standard, providing extra security when moving off on inclined ramps or dunes.

The bottom line

For a GCC family seeking a modern, reliable seven-seater that holds its value, this white X-Terra SE is a sensible and highly liquid investment in the current market.
