Summary

This 2022 Nissan Pathfinder SL is a standout choice in the GCC market, offering the preferred 7-seat configuration with captain chairs that balance family space and comfort. The Grey exterior is one of the most resilient and high-demand colors for resale in the region, holding its value better than more niche shades. With just over 60,000 km, its mileage is exactly on par for a two-year-old vehicle in this region, where long-distance highway driving is standard. The SL trim adds the critical tech and leather amenities that GCC buyers look for, bridging the gap between a workhorse and a luxury SUV. It is perfectly suited for high-temperature desert summers thanks to a robust cooling system and advanced tri-zone climate control.

This Car vs Other 2022 Pathfinders

At 61,882 km, this Pathfinder sits at the average mileage mark for a GCC-owned vehicle of this age, indicating it has been used primarily for routine commuting and highway travel. The Grey exterior is a significant advantage for local resale, offering excellent heat reflection and long-term paint durability. Compared to standard 8-seater models, this 7-seat SL configuration is highly sought after for the added cabin walkway and increased second-row comfort.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim represents a significant upgrade over the SV, adding premium leather-appointed seating and a larger 9-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation. Essential GCC features like the Intelligent Around View Monitor and a power liftgate are standard here, along with a heated steering wheel for those cooler desert mornings. It also introduces the ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link, providing a more relaxed driving experience on long stretches between emirates.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder leads rivals like the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot in pure towing capability, boasting a 2,722 kg capacity that is ideal for weekend jet-ski or trailer trips. Its new 9-speed automatic transmission offers a smoother and more responsive highway experience than the CVTs found in many competitors. Furthermore, the Pathfinder's EZ FLEX seating system provides easier third-row access, which is a key differentiator for large families in the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 AWD averages approximately 10.5L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC city traffic may push this closer to 11.5L/100km. Nissan maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. The Pathfinder enjoys strong value retention, typically depreciating at a stable 9-11% annually, making it one of the safer investments in the mid-size SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine is paired with an intelligent All Wheel Drive system that features seven selectable terrain modes, including dedicated Sand and Mud/Rut settings for off-road excursions. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in approximately 7.5 seconds, providing plenty of power for confident overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. The shift from a CVT to a traditional 9-speed gearbox significantly improves the driving dynamics and durability under heavy loads.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the SL trim offers a quiet, refined atmosphere with acoustic laminated glass that keeps the cabin insulated from road noise and desert heat. The 7-seat layout features highly practical second-row captain chairs and a removable center console, allowing for a walkthrough to the third row. A dedicated rear climate control zone ensures all passengers remain cool during the peak of the GCC summer, while the leather upholstery provides a premium feel throughout the cabin.

Safety

This Pathfinder comes equipped with Nissan Safety Shield 360, providing a comprehensive suite of active safety technologies including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Blind Spot Warning. For long-distance GCC highway drives, the ProPILOT Assist system combines Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist to help maintain lane position and following distance. Ten standard airbags and a 5-star NHTSA safety rating provide maximum peace of mind for family travel.

The bottom line

For a GCC family seeking the perfect balance of technology, towing power, and refined 7-seat comfort, this SL trim Pathfinder is an ideal choice that will hold its value for years to come.
