• Intelligent Around View Monitor standard

Summary

This 2022 Pathfinder SL represents a significant upgrade over previous generations, moving to a robust 9-speed automatic transmission that is better suited for the GCC's demanding terrain than the older CVT. As a GCC-spec model with moderate mileage for its age, it offers the peace of mind of local parts availability and a cooling system designed for peak summer temperatures. The SL trim strikes the perfect balance for families, offering leather upholstery and 360° camera tech without the steep premium of the Platinum trim. In a market where silver and grey are among the strongest resale colors, this example is positioned for excellent value retention. It is a capable, modern family mover that handles the school run and cross-border road trips with equal poise.

This Car vs Other 2022 Pathfinders

With 86,000 km over roughly two to three years, this vehicle sits comfortably within the typical GCC annual mileage range of 20,000–30,000 km. Unlike many American-spec imports found in the UAE, this is a genuine GCC-spec vehicle, ensuring full compatibility with authorized service centers and a radiator built for extreme heat. The Grey exterior is highly practical for the region, hiding desert dust well and maintaining strong demand in the used market.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim is the sweet spot for GCC buyers, adding the Intelligent Around View Monitor which is essential for parking a large SUV in tight city malls. It upgrades the interior significantly over the SV with genuine leather-appointed seating and a larger 9-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation. You also benefit from a power liftgate and rear sunshades, features that drastically improve family comfort during long, sunny drives across the Emirates.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder leads rivals like the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot in towing capability, offering a 2,722 kg capacity that is perfect for jet-skis or small boats. Its 70-liter fuel tank provides impressive range for long-distance cruising between cities like Dubai and Riyadh. While competitors often feel car-like, the Pathfinder's selectable terrain modes for sand and gravel give it a slight edge for those occasional weekend escapes into the dunes.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 typically averages around 10.5L/100km, though this will increase in heavy stop-start traffic in cities like Kuwait City or Dubai. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, and Nissan’s massive authorized network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar makes maintenance straightforward and affordable. As a Japanese-engineered SUV, it enjoys much slower depreciation than European rivals, typically retaining a high percentage of its value after the first three years.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 provides smooth, linear power that is particularly effective for highway overtaking at speed. The transition to a 9-speed automatic transmission is a game-changer for the GCC, offering better response and durability under high thermal loads. With the Intelligent 4x4 system, you can switch between dedicated Sand, Mud, and Snow modes, ensuring the vehicle remains composed whether you are on a rain-slicked highway or a gravel track.

Comfort & Cabin

This SL trim is configured as a full 8-seater, utilizing the EZ-FLEX system that allows the second row to tilt and slide even with a child seat installed. The tri-zone climate control is exceptionally powerful, featuring dedicated rear vents that are vital for keeping all three rows cool during 45°C summers. Cabin insulation has been improved in this generation, resulting in a quiet, refined environment for long-distance family travel.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of this trim, featuring Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard. This includes Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Warning, which are invaluable on fast-moving multi-lane highways. The 360-degree camera system with moving object detection provides an extra layer of security when navigating busy school zones or crowded residential areas.

The bottom line

This Pathfinder is the ideal choice for a growing GCC family that needs 8-seat practicality and genuine towing power without sacrificing modern cabin tech. It’s a reliable, region-ready SUV that holds its value better than almost anything else in its class.
