Summary

This 2022 Porsche Cayenne GTS is a compelling buy for performance seekers, offering the sought-after V8 powertrain that was reintroduced to this trim just two years prior. At 4 years old with 99,000 km, its mileage reflects consistent use on GCC highways, often a preferred indicator of mechanical health over cars left idle in high heat. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-resale color in the local market, bridging the gap between understated luxury and the GTS's aggressive styling. As the driver-focused middle child of the lineup, it offers the perfect balance of daily SUV utility and genuine sports car dynamics. For the GCC owner, the combination of a robust cooling system and Porsche’s legendary build quality ensures peak performance even during the peak of summer.

This Car vs Other 2022 Cayennes

With 99,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered approximately 24,750 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with typical annual use for high-performance SUVs in the GCC. While higher than the global average, this mileage in a regional context suggests a well-maintained highway commuter rather than a city-bound car subjected to constant stop-start heat soak. The Grey finish is one of the top three resale colors in the region, ensuring better value retention compared to more eccentric paint choices.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS trim is a significant leap over the Cayenne S, most notably swapping the V6 for a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. It comes standard with the Sport Chrono package, Sport Exhaust system, and a 20mm lower adaptive air suspension tuned specifically for handling. Inside, you receive GTS-specific Alcantara upholstery and more aggressive seat bolstering, features that GCC buyers value for their premium feel and durability under the sun.

Cayenne vs Segment Rivals

When cross-shopped against the BMW X5 M50i or the Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG, the Cayenne GTS leads with its superior steering precision and 270 km/h top speed. Its 90-litre fuel tank is a massive advantage for long-distance drives across the Emirates or into neighboring countries, offering a longer highway range than many rivals. Furthermore, Porsche's thermal management is widely regarded as one of the best for maintaining power in 45°C+ temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the V8 biturbo averages around 12.2 L/100km, though this can rise in the heavy stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months, with an extensive authorized service network spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The GTS trim historically retains its value better than the base or S models in the GCC, as enthusiasts specifically seek out the V8 engine and sport-tuned chassis on the used market.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0-litre V8 produces 460 hp and 620 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds with the Sport Chrono package. While it's a road-biased performance SUV, the All-Wheel Drive system and adjustable air suspension provide sufficient ground clearance for sandy verges or gravel roads often encountered on weekend trips. It also boasts a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, making it as practical as it is fast.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seat environment designed for high-speed comfort, featuring multi-zone climate control with powerful rear vents essential for the GCC climate. Standard equipment includes the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a 12.4-inch touchscreen and premium audio. With 645 litres of boot space, it easily accommodates family luggage for cross-border road trips, while acoustic glass helps insulate the cabin from both desert heat and wind noise.

Safety

This GTS comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including front and rear parking sensors, forward collision mitigation, and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). For GCC highway driving, the standard LED headlights provide excellent visibility during night drives, while the high-performance braking system ensures fade-resistant stopping power even after high-speed runs in hot conditions. Multiple airbags and a rigid occupant cell provide top-tier passive safety for all five passengers.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who wants a V8 Porsche without the price tag of a Turbo, this GCC-spec GTS offers the perfect mix of performance and regional suitability. It is a sharp, reliable opportunity for a driver who prioritizes engagement and strong resale value in a high-mileage-capable package.
