• 300 mm ground clearance
• 125-litre fuel tank

Summary

This GCC-spec super-truck offers a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage example of the most powerful petrol pickup ever produced. Its granite grey exterior is a highly sought-after, resilient color for the UAE market, ensuring strong resale value compared to louder custom wraps. While standard pickups prioritize utility, this machine is engineered for high-speed desert crossings and dominates rivals like the Raptor with its superior supercharged V8 torque. For a GCC owner, the combination of relatively low usage and local regional specifications makes this a secure investment in a model that is now becoming a collector's item.

This Car vs Other 2022 RAM 1500s

With just 27,570 km on the odometer, this TRX sits well below the typical 50,000–60,000 km expected for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC's highway-centric market. The grey exterior is a 'safe' investment for the region, offering much higher liquidity and value retention than the brighter orange or red variants often seen in local listings. This specific truck presents as a mechanically fresh example of the pre-discontinuation V8 era.

TRX vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the TRX from a standard RAM 1500 adds the legendary 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8, but the upgrades go far deeper than just horsepower. It features the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive suspension system with remote reservoirs and 35-inch all-terrain tires as standard, hardware that lower trims cannot match for desert performance. Inside, you gain a standard 12-inch vertical touchscreen and the high-performance flat-bottom steering wheel with aluminum paddle shifters.

RAM 1500 vs Segment Rivals

The TRX leads the Ford F-150 Raptor in raw power, delivering 702 hp compared to the standard Raptor's V6 output, making it the preferred choice for long-distance cruising on the E11. Its massive 125-litre fuel tank is specifically beneficial for cross-border GCC drives, providing a longer range between stops than many competitors. Additionally, the TRX’s wider track and unique coil-spring rear suspension offer superior high-speed stability on open dunes.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 19.6 L/100km, though highway cruising between Emirates can see this improve to 16.5 L/100km. Service intervals for the TRX in the GCC are typically every 10,000 km or 6 months, supported by an extensive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As a discontinued V8 icon, the TRX currently enjoys some of the lowest depreciation rates in the performance truck segment, often retaining over 80% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is the 4.5-second 0–100 km/h sprint, a feat that allows this 3-ton truck to out-accelerate many sports cars at a red light. With 300 mm of ground clearance and a wading depth of 812 mm, it is perfectly suited for both technical wadi driving and high-speed sand bashing. Eight selectable drive modes, including a dedicated 'Baja' mode, calibrate the 4WD system and suspension specifically for the varied terrains found across the GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a luxury environment designed to isolate passengers from the 45°C summer heat, featuring a powerful triple-zone climate control system and ventilated front seats. The 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system provides exceptional clarity even over the aggressive roar of the supercharged engine. Long-distance comfort is ensured by the TRX-specific bolstered seats, which provide support during off-road maneuvers while remaining plush for city commuting.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of ADAS features, including Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control, which are essential for navigating busy GCC highways. Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection helps manage the vehicle's significant 2.2-meter width in urban traffic. The truck is also equipped with six airbags and electronic roll mitigation, ensuring stability during both high-speed maneuvers and off-road excursions.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who wants the final word in petrol-powered performance, this low-mileage, GCC-spec TRX is the ultimate desert weapon and a blue-chip collectible for any regional garage.
