Summary

This 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR represents the benchmark for executive off-roading in the GCC, offering a sophisticated balance of twin-turbocharged power and high-end cabin technology. With its current mileage reflecting careful ownership, this vehicle sits comfortably below the typical regional average for a four-year-old SUV. The Grey exterior is a highly desirable and practical choice for the local market, ensuring excellent resale potential and heat management. As the top-tier luxury trim, it serves as a superior alternative to rivals, providing the mechanical reliability Toyota is famous for alongside a refined, tech-forward interior. For any buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, this is a versatile opportunity that transitions seamlessly from city commutes to cross-border highway cruises.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

At 23,104 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the average for a four-year-old SUV in the GCC, where annual usage often reaches 25,000 km. This low mileage makes it a standout choice in the used market, offering a mechanical longevity that few rivals can match. The Grey finish is a strong resale color locally, valued for its ability to hide desert dust and maintain a premium look under the intense sun.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim significantly elevates the cabin experience over the GXR and EXR models by adding 14-speaker JBL premium audio and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display. Crucially for the GCC climate, it features ventilated seats for both the front and second rows, ensuring comfort for all seven passengers during summer. It also adds a more sophisticated suite of safety tech, including a 360-degree camera system and adaptive cruise control.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

While the Nissan Patrol remains its primary competitor, the Land Cruiser 300-series leads with a modern twin-turbo V6 that offers sharper acceleration and better fuel efficiency than older V8 designs. Its 110-litre total fuel capacity provides a superior range for long-distance drives across the Emirates or into Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the Land Cruiser’s reputation for having the most robust authorized service network across all GCC countries remains an unmatched ownership advantage.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L twin-turbo petrol engine typically averages around 12.1 L/100km, though this can increase in heavy city traffic. Resale value for the LC300 VXR is exceptionally strong in the local market, often retaining over 80% of its value after three years. Authorized service centers are widely available in every major GCC city, and parts availability is arguably the best in the region, keeping long-term maintenance predictable.

Performance & Capability

The 409 hp twin-turbo V6 delivers 650 Nm of torque, allowing for effortless highway overtaking even when fully loaded with seven passengers. Its advanced Multi-Terrain Select system and Crawl Control are engineered specifically for regional terrain, providing genuine desert capability for weekend adventures. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and 235 mm of ground clearance, it remains the ultimate multi-purpose workhorse for the Gulf.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed for maximum family utility, featuring a power-folding third row for flexible cargo space. The VXR's four-zone climate control is class-leading, capable of cooling the large cabin rapidly even in temperatures exceeding 45°C. Refinement is aided by acoustic glass and high-grade leather, creating a quiet sanctuary that isolates passengers from road noise during long-distance highway travel.

Safety

Standard safety features on the VXR include the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, featuring Pre-Collision System, Lane Trace Assist, and Adaptive High Beam. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring is particularly useful for navigating multi-lane GCC highways and tight urban parking. Multiple airbags and a high-strength chassis architecture ensure this remains one of the safest family vehicles on the road.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking the ultimate GCC-spec SUV with low mileage and the highest luxury trim available. It offers a rare combination of immediate availability, strong value retention, and the peace of mind that comes with Toyota's legendary reliability.
