Summary

This 2024 Land Cruiser EXR offers a compelling entry into the LC300 generation, featuring the legendary 4.0L V6 that remains a favorite in the GCC for its long-term mechanical simplicity. At exactly 2 years old with average mileage for the region, it sits in the 'sweet spot' of depreciation where the initial hit has been taken but the vehicle retains its like-new mechanical integrity. Finished in White, it occupies the strongest possible resale position in the UAE and wider GCC used market. While newer turbo models exist, this naturally aspirated V6 is the choice for buyers who prioritize bulletproof reliability over outright speed. It represents a smart, low-risk asset that is as capable of school runs in the city as it is traversing the Liwa dunes.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With 42,043 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 21,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the GCC annual average for large family SUVs. Unlike many 'Export Only' listings found online, this is a genuine GCC-spec vehicle, ensuring full compatibility with local service centers and superior AC performance for the summer. The white exterior further enhances its value, as it remains the most sought-after color for heat reflection and resale liquidity in the Emirates.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the essential off-road configuration, adding key hardware over base fleet models like a rear differential lock and the advanced Crawl Control system. It balances utility with modern convenience by including a 9-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and a dedicated cool box in the center console. You also get 18-inch alloy wheels and tri-zone climate control, which are vital for passenger comfort during long cross-country drives.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser LC300 leads in overall resale value retention and boasts a more modern TNGA-F chassis that improves high-speed stability. Its 110-litre fuel capacity is specifically designed for the vast distances between fuel stops on regional highways, outperforming smaller-tanked rivals like the Ford Expedition. Additionally, the Toyota service network is the most dense in the region, meaning parts and expertise are available in even the most remote corners of the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is tuned for 95-octane fuel, making it more economical to fill than high-performance European rivals requiring 98-octane. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.6 L/100km on the highway, though this increases in stop-start city traffic typical of Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, and as one of the region's strongest value-holders, you can expect to retain approximately 75-80% of your investment even after three years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine is paired with a robust 6-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4WD system, providing a maximum ground clearance of 235 mm. It features Multi-Terrain Select, allowing the driver to calibrate the traction control for sand, rock, or mud at the turn of a dial. This makes it an exceptionally capable desert companion, while the 385 Nm of torque ensures confident overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater layout is ideal for large families, offering a modular third row that can be folded to create a massive cargo area. The cabin is specifically engineered for the Middle East, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents that can chill the interior in minutes even after being parked in 45°C heat. The fabric seats are often preferred by local off-roaders for their durability and lack of heat absorption compared to leather.

Safety

Standard safety features on the EXR trim include a suite of airbags (front, side, and curtain) and a rear-view camera with parking sensors to help manage its large footprint. The vehicle is equipped with electronic stability control and Brake Assist, which are crucial for maintaining composure on sandy or gravel-strewn surfaces. It also includes an E-Call emergency system and ISOFIX points, making it a safe and secure choice for family duties.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the prestige and capability of the LC300 without the complexity of twin-turbos, this 2024 EXR is the most sensible financial and mechanical choice currently on the market.
