Summary

This 2022 RAV4 LE is a highly practical family crossover that delivers exceptional value in the regional used market. With a 4-year-old service history and mileage that sits comfortably within the expected range for the UAE's highway-heavy driving culture, this unit represents a reliable long-term investment. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for resale in the Middle East, offering superior heat reflection and market liquidity. As an all-wheel-drive model, it provides enhanced stability for weekend getaways and rainy winter commutes across the Emirates. For any buyer prioritizing mechanical longevity and low running costs, this RAV4 remains a segment leader.

This Car vs Other 2022 RAV4s

At 70,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is exactly in line with the GCC average of 15,000–20,000 km per year, indicating it has been used primarily for standard commuting rather than excessive long-range travel. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, ensuring the highest possible resale demand and keeping the cabin cooler during peak summer months. While being an American spec, its 2.5L powertrain is mechanically identical to local variants, ensuring full parts compatibility.

LE vs Lower Trims

The LE trim serves as the essential entry point to the RAV4 range, providing the full suite of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 as standard. While higher trims add luxury features like leather or a sunroof, the LE focuses on durability with 17-inch wheels that offer a more comfortable ride over speed bumps and gravel. This specific LE includes the optional All-Wheel Drive system, a significant upgrade over the standard front-wheel-drive base models for improved traction.

RAV4 vs Segment Rivals

The RAV4 leads the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 in terms of sheer reliability and ease of maintenance across the GCC. Its 213 mm ground clearance is superior to many road-biased rivals, making it more capable on unpaved roads or sand-dusted tracks. Furthermore, the extensive regional dealer network ensures that finding parts or service in Dubai, Riyadh, or Muscat is significantly easier than for its European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is impressive for an AWD SUV, averaging approximately 7.9 L/100km, which helps manage costs during long inter-city drives. Toyota holds the strongest value retention in the UAE market, typically depreciating at only 8-10% annually compared to the 15%+ seen in rival segments. Routine maintenance is straightforward, with authorized service centers widely available across every major city in the GCC.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 170 horsepower, paired with a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission that is optimized for highway cruising. The All-Wheel Drive system features Multi-Terrain Select, allowing the driver to choose between Mud & Sand or Rock & Dirt modes for light off-road excursions. It offers a balanced driving experience that feels planted at 120 km/h on the E11 while remaining agile enough for tight city parking.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family utility, featuring hard-wearing fabric seats and a powerful air conditioning system that is legendary for its effectiveness in 45°C+ heat. With 547 litres of boot space, it easily accommodates groceries, strollers, or gear for a weekend trip to Fujairah. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and ample legroom, ensuring comfort during longer cross-border journeys.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus, with the RAV4 featuring eight airbags and a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection standard on this trim. For highway safety, it includes Lane Departure Alert and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which are essential tools for navigating fast-moving UAE traffic. The standard backup camera and automatic high beams add further layers of security for night driving and urban maneuvering.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who wants a dependable, 4-year-old family SUV with a proven resale profile, this AWD RAV4 is the most logical and safe choice available today.
