Chevrolet Tahoe LT Chevrolet Tahoe 2023

Highlights

• 3,719 kg maximum braked towing capacity
• 91-litre fuel tank standard
• Nine-speaker Bose audio system standard

Summary

This 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LT offers a massive seating capacity and V8 reliability, making it a standout choice for large families in the GCC. While it carries typical highway-friendly mileage for its age, the Blue exterior remains a distinctive and respectable choice for resale in a market dominated by neutral tones. As an American spec vehicle, it provides the premium LT features at a more accessible entry point than its GCC-spec counterparts, though buyers should ensure local service center compatibility. The 5.3L engine is a proven workhorse, ideally suited for the long-distance highway hauls between emirates or across borders. For the driver who needs maximum passenger utility without stepping into a commercial van, this 9-seater configuration is a rare and valuable find.

This Car vs Other 2023 Tahoes

With 104,000 km, this Tahoe sits at the average mileage mark for the GCC, where 30,000 to 35,000 km per year is standard for full-size SUVs due to frequent inter-city travel. The Blue exterior provides a refreshed look compared to the common white or black options while maintaining strong aesthetic appeal for secondary buyers. As an American spec, it represents a value-driven alternative for those who prioritize features and seating capacity over local agency service contracts.

LT vs Lower Trims

The LT trim is a significant jump from the base LS, replacing cloth with leather upholstery and adding a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system. It also upgrades the cabin technology with a larger 10.2-inch infotainment screen and a 12-inch digital driver cluster, features that are highly valued by tech-conscious buyers in the UAE market. Additionally, the hands-free power liftgate and wireless charging pad add daily convenience that the base model lacks.

Tahoe vs Segment Rivals

The Tahoe leads competitors like the Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser in pure interior volume, specifically offering a unique 9-seat configuration that is unavailable in most rivals. Its 91-litre fuel tank ensures long ranges for trans-GCC road trips, while the 10-speed automatic transmission offers smoother highway cruising than the older gearboxes found in some segment peers. The Tahoe's flat-folding rear seats also provide more practical cargo flexibility for family camping or shopping trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Expected fuel consumption for the 5.3L V8 is approximately 14.0 L/100km combined, which is competitive for a vehicle of this weight in GCC traffic conditions. Chevrolet parts are widely available across the UAE, though American spec owners should verify parts compatibility with local authorized service centers like Al Ghandi or Bin Hamoodah. While GCC spec cars hold a premium, Tahoes generally maintain a strong residual value of roughly 65-70% after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 5.3L V8 delivers a robust 355 hp and 519 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless highway overtaking even when fully loaded with passengers. Its 3,719 kg towing capacity makes it one of the most capable haulers in the region, perfect for towing boats or jet ski trailers to the coast. The four-wheel-drive system provides necessary traction for gravel tracks or light sand excursions during weekend desert retreats.

Comfort & Cabin

This specific configuration offers 9+ seats, providing unparalleled family logistics with a three-zone automatic climate control system designed to push cold air to the very back of the cabin. The LT trim includes heated front seats and leather-appointed surfaces that remain comfortable during long drives in the summer heat. Acoustic glass and improved insulation help keep the cabin quiet and shielded from the harsh GCC external environment.

Safety

Standard safety features on the LT trim include Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, which are essential for navigating high-speed UAE highways. The Tahoe also features a high-definition rear vision camera and front/rear park assist to manage its large footprint in city parking. Multiple airbags and a high-strength steel frame provide a 5-star safety foundation for family transport.

The bottom line

This Tahoe is the ultimate logistical solution for large families who need premium leather interiors and maximum seating without the GCC-spec price premium.
