Summary

This Honda ZR-V EX offers a compelling blend of Civic-inspired agility and SUV practicality, perfect for navigating the UAE's busy urban centers and open highways. With mileage sitting comfortably below the typical GCC annual average, this lightly used example maintains its premium appeal and mechanical integrity. The EX trim provides a significant tech and comfort upgrade over the base model, making it a sophisticated choice for young professionals or small families. Finished in a versatile Grey that holds strong resale value in the local market, it stands out as a modern, reliable crossover with an extensive service network across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2023 ZR-Vs

With just 24,241 km on the odometer, this ZR-V has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after neutral tone in the UAE, ensuring better heat reflection than darker colors and maintaining a higher resale demand. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from localized cooling systems and full compatibility with regional Honda service centers.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim elevates the ZR-V experience with premium features absent on the LX, including a larger 9-inch infotainment display and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. Owners also benefit from a 360-degree camera system and a wireless smartphone charger, which are essential for modern UAE driving. Additional luxuries like the power-adjustable seats and a gesture-controlled power tailgate provide a level of convenience typically found in higher-segment luxury SUVs.

ZR-V vs Segment Rivals

The ZR-V leads rivals like the Toyota Corolla Cross and Nissan Kicks by offering the more sophisticated multi-link rear suspension from the Civic, resulting in superior handling on winding roads. Its 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine provides a more responsive power delivery compared to the naturally aspirated units found in many competitors. Furthermore, Honda's reputation for air-conditioning efficiency remains a key advantage during the peak GCC summer months.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 6.8 L/100km, making it one of the most efficient petrol-only crossovers for daily commuting between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most robust authorized dealer networks in the GCC, including Al-Futtaim in the UAE. Honda models traditionally enjoy high value retention, depreciating at a slower rate than European rivals in this segment.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine delivers a smooth 180 hp and 240 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless overtaking on high-speed E11 highway stretches. While designed as an urban crossover, its 18-inch alloy wheels and stable chassis handle gravel tracks and light weekend excursions with ease. The CVT is tuned for responsiveness, providing a linear power band that feels more engaging than traditional budget crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a premium 'honeycomb' dashboard design and high-quality upholstery that resists wear in high-temperature environments. Standard dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures all five passengers stay cool during the peak summer heat. With 380 liters of boot space that expands to over 1,300 liters with the seats folded, it easily accommodates large grocery hauls or weekend luggage for cross-border trips.

Safety

Safety is headlined by the Honda SENSING suite, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Road Departure Mitigation, all of which are invaluable for long desert highway drives. The EX trim also standardizes a 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors, making tight parking maneuvers in urban areas stress-free. Multiple airbags and a high-tensile steel frame provide top-tier occupant protection for peace of mind.

The bottom line

This ZR-V EX is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the reliability of a Honda paired with the premium tech and turbocharged performance of a modern crossover. It represents an excellent opportunity to own a high-trim, low-mileage GCC-spec SUV that is still well within its prime service life.
