Summary

This GCC-spec INEOS Grenadier represents a rare opportunity to own a purpose-built overlander that prioritizes mechanical durability over complex electronics. As the Fieldmaster Edition, it bridges the gap between rugged capability and everyday usability, featuring premium touches like Safari windows and leather upholstery. The BMW-sourced 3.0L straight-six petrol engine is a proven performer in the region, offering smooth power delivery for both highway cruising and desert expeditions. Given the high demand for rugged, body-on-frame 4x4s in the UAE and wider GCC, this black-on-black example holds a strong presence and excellent resale appeal. It is the ideal choice for those who value the spirit of a classic off-roader backed by modern engineering and a growing regional service network.

This Car vs Other 2023 Grenadiers

With 122,000 km, this vehicle has been actively enjoyed for its intended purpose, reflecting the high-mileage highway driving typical for regional explorers in the GCC. While the odometer is higher than some city-driven examples, its GCC specification ensures it is correctly prepared for local heat and terrain. Black remains one of the most desirable colors for resale in the local market, maintaining its value better than more niche exterior shades.

FIELDMASTER EDITION vs Lower Trims

The Fieldmaster Edition significantly upgrades the interior experience over the base Station Wagon, adding heated Recaro leather seats and a premium sound system. It features the signature Safari windows over the front seats for an open-air feel and an integrated rear access ladder. While the Trialmaster focuses on extreme trail hardware, the Fieldmaster provides a more refined cabin environment that is better suited for long-distance cross-border drives between Emirates.

Grenadier vs Segment Rivals

The Grenadier stands apart from the Land Rover Defender by utilizing solid beam axles and a ladder-frame chassis for superior long-term durability in harsh desert conditions. Unlike the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, it offers a more analog, cockpit-like interior with tactile switches that are easier to operate with gloves or in dusty environments. Its 3,500 kg towing capacity remains a benchmark in the segment, outclassing many monocoque rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L petrol engine typically ranges between 14 and 18 L/100km depending on GCC traffic and desert use. Service intervals are recommended every 12 months or 20,000 km at authorized centers like AGMC in the UAE or Aljomaih in Saudi Arabia. As a new brand, the Grenadier is showing strong value retention in the GCC, with depreciation patterns currently tracking closely with established premium 4x4 icons.

Performance & Capability

The BMW B58 turbocharged engine delivers 286 hp and 450 Nm of torque, enabling an 8.6-second 0-100 km/h sprint which is impressive for a vehicle of this mass. Its off-road hardware is formidable, featuring a Tremec two-speed transfer case and permanent all-wheel drive for consistent traction on soft sand. With a 264 mm ground clearance and 800 mm wading depth, it is factory-ready for the most demanding wadi crossings and dune bashing trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed for long-range comfort, featuring supportive Recaro seats and dedicated rear climate vents to combat the GCC summer. The Fieldmaster trim includes safari windows that can be tilted or removed entirely to enhance the sense of space. Despite its rugged exterior, the interior offers modern connectivity through a central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Safety

The Grenadier is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including multiple airbags, ABS, and Electronic Stability Control tuned specifically for off-road use. Standard driver aids like Rear Parking Assist and a high-definition rearview camera assist in maneuvering this large SUV in tight city spaces. The robust ladder-frame construction provides a highly protective shell for all occupants during long-distance highway travel.

The bottom line

This Grenadier is perfect for the GCC enthusiast who wants a legendary 4x4 aesthetic without sacrificing modern performance, offering a high-spec interior in the region's most popular resale color.
