INEOS Grenadier STANDARD

Highlights

• 800 mm wading depth

Summary

This 2023 INEOS Grenadier is a pure-purpose 4x4, offering a rare mechanical honesty that bridges the gap between classic off-road icons and modern reliability. With mileage reflecting careful use over three years in the GCC, it presents as a robust alternative to more common luxury SUVs. Finished in Silver—a highly preferred color for heat management and resale value in the region—this standard trim provides a clean canvas for enthusiasts or commercial users. Its combination of a proven BMW-sourced powertrain and heavy-duty live axles makes it exceptionally well-suited for the diverse terrain of the Emirates, from soft dunes to rocky wadis. For the buyer seeking a no-nonsense adventure vehicle with a full factory support network across the GCC, this listing represents a significant saving over new models.

This Car vs Other 2023 Grenadiers

With 67,477 km over three years, this Grenadier has been driven slightly above the average for a leisure vehicle but well within the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual cycle seen for primary vehicles in the GCC. Silver is one of the strongest resale colors in the local market, offering excellent thermal properties during the peak of the UAE summer. Unlike European-import units, this GCC-spec example ensures full compatibility with local service centers and regional cooling requirements.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim serves as the essential 'blank canvas' model, stripping away the lifestyle-oriented extras of the Fieldmaster or Trialmaster to focus on core mechanical strength. While it lacks the safari windows and leather of higher trims, it retains the heavy-duty Recaro seats and the high-output BMW straight-six engine that define the Grenadier experience. It is the preferred choice for owners who intend to customize their vehicle with specific aftermarket off-road hardware or utility equipment.

Grenadier vs Segment Rivals

The Grenadier is frequently cross-shopped against the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series and the Land Rover Defender. It leads the segment with its unique cockpit-style overhead controls and a heavy-duty ladder frame designed specifically for extreme durability. While the Defender has moved toward unibody sophistication, the Grenadier maintains solid beam axles and a 90-liter fuel tank, making it superior for long-range expeditions across the Empty Quarter where mechanical simplicity is a priority.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L petrol engine typically ranges between 13.2L and 15.3L/100km, depending on the mix of city traffic and highway cruising. Service intervals are recommended every 12 months or 20,000 km, supported by an expanding network of authorized centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As a new entrant with high global demand, the Grenadier is showing strong value retention, depreciating at a lower rate than traditional European luxury SUVs at the three-year mark.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, the Grenadier is one of the most capable haulers in its class. The 264 mm of ground clearance and 800 mm wading depth are matched by a permanent four-wheel-drive system and a two-speed Tremec transfer case for precise low-speed crawling. On the road, the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission provides smooth shifts that make long-distance drives between emirates comfortable and efficient.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed with a 'hose-out' philosophy, featuring water-resistant upholstery and drain plugs in the floor for easy cleaning after desert trips. Despite its rugged exterior, the interior includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and a high-performance climate control system with dedicated rear vents. The Recaro seats provide exceptional support during long highway stints and heavy off-road maneuvers alike.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive suite of airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Traction Control tailored for both sand and tarmac. It also features a rear-view camera and parking sensors to assist in maneuvering its boxy dimensions in city environments. The full box-section ladder frame provides a massive structural safety cell that many monocoque rivals cannot match.

The bottom line

Perfect for the purist who values mechanical durability over digital gimmicks, this GCC-spec Grenadier offers a turnkey solution for serious off-roading or heavy-duty towing.
