Summary

The 2023 Infiniti QX55 in the ESSENTIAL trim represents a sophisticated entry into the luxury crossover coupe segment, offering a striking design that stands out on the roads of the UAE. This specific vehicle is an exceptional find, combining a vibrant exterior color that retains high desirability in the premium pre-owned market with a mileage profile that suggests it has been sparingly used by GCC standards. Moving beyond the standard SUV silhouette, this model provides a sportier aesthetic without sacrificing the daily usability required for commuting between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it comes with the peace of mind of a cooling system and mechanical components designed specifically for our region's extreme heat. The ESSENTIAL trim is the sweet spot for buyers who demand high-end technology and cabin refinement without the jump to top-tier pricing. For a GCC buyer looking for a modern, tech-heavy luxury vehicle that is still under its prime operational window, this Infiniti is a formidable choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 QX55s

When comparing this specific 2023 Infiniti QX55 to others currently available in the GCC market, the first thing that stands out is the mileage. At just over 30,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 15,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 25,000 km per year. This lower usage means less wear on the suspension components and the VC-Turbo engine, both of which face unique stress in our high-temperature environment. The Red exterior is a premium choice that differentiates it from the sea of white and silver vehicles, offering a more personalized touch while still maintaining a strong resale profile in the luxury crossover segment. Because it is a GCC-spec model, it bypasses the common pitfalls of imported North American models, such as non-functional navigation maps or lack of local warranty support. Choosing this vehicle means opting for a car that has spent its life on well-maintained local roads under a consistent maintenance philosophy.

ESSENTIAL vs Lower Trims

Choosing the ESSENTIAL trim over the base LUXE variant provides a significant upgrade in both daily convenience and cabin ambiance that GCC buyers find indispensable. The most notable addition is the Bose Performance Series audio system, which features 16 speakers strategically placed to provide a concert-like experience even while navigating noisy city traffic. This trim also introduces the Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, a critical tool for parking in tight mall spaces or navigating narrow residential streets. Furthermore, the ESSENTIAL trim typically includes ventilated front seats, a feature that is practically a necessity during the UAE’s summer months to ensure a comfortable arrival at your destination. You also benefit from upgraded leather upholstery and a power-adjustable steering column, which adds a layer of tailored comfort that lower trims lack. These premium additions not only improve your ownership experience but also ensure the car remains highly competitive when the time comes to resell it.

QX55 vs Segment Rivals

The Infiniti QX55 competes in a crowded field alongside the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, yet it carves out its own niche through a focus on bold design and innovative powertrain technology. Unlike its European rivals which often charge extra for advanced driver assistance systems, the QX55 ESSENTIAL includes a comprehensive suite of safety tech as standard. Its 2.0L Variable Compression Turbo engine is a unique piece of engineering that offers a better balance of power and fuel efficiency than many entry-level engines from German competitors. For long highway drives across the Emirates, the QX55 offers a more supple ride quality that prioritizes comfort over the sometimes harsh sport-tuned suspensions found in its rivals. Additionally, the cabin layout provides an intuitive dual-screen interface that many find easier to use while driving compared to the single-screen menu-heavy systems found elsewhere. The sheer presence of its arched roofline and massive signature grille ensures it turns more heads at the valet than more conservative segment choices.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for the Infiniti QX55 in the GCC are remarkably manageable for a luxury vehicle. The 2.0L VC-Turbo engine is designed to run efficiently on Super 98 or Special 95 petrol, with real-world fuel consumption averaging around 8.5 to 9.5 L per 100km on the highway, making those weekend trips from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah quite affordable. Infiniti’s service network is robust across the UAE, with major service centers in every major city, ensuring parts availability is never an issue compared to more niche luxury brands. Maintenance intervals typically occur every 10,000 km, which is standard for the region and helps maintain the car's long-term health. Regarding resale, Infiniti models generally experience a depreciation curve of about 12-15% annually in the GCC, which is slightly better than some European counterparts. The fact that this is a 2023 model with low mileage and GCC specifications means it will hold a premium value in the used market for several years to come.

Performance & Capability

At the heart of the QX55 is the world’s first production Variable Compression Turbo engine, which seamlessly transforms its characteristics based on your driving style. When you are merging onto the E11 highway, the engine adjusts to a lower compression ratio to provide maximum turbo boost and immediate acceleration. Conversely, while cruising at steady speeds, it switches to a higher compression ratio to maximize fuel economy. The 0-100 km/h sprint is handled with surprising agility for a crossover, providing the confidence needed for quick overtakes in fast-moving traffic. The front-wheel-drive configuration ensures the vehicle remains lightweight and efficient, perfectly suited for the paved urban environments and highways of the GCC. With a ground clearance that allows for easy navigation over speed bumps and through minor road debris, it offers a commanding view of the road without the bulk of a full-sized SUV. Drive modes allow you to sharpen the steering and throttle response, giving you a sporty feel whenever the road opens up.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the QX55 ESSENTIAL is designed to be a sanctuary from the bustling external environment. Despite its sleek coupe-like roofline, the cabin feels surprisingly airy thanks to clever interior packaging and the use of high-quality materials. The 4-seat configuration ensures that every passenger has ample personal space, making it an ideal executive commuter or a stylish vehicle for a small family. The air conditioning system is world-class, specifically engineered to drop cabin temperatures rapidly even after the car has been sitting in the direct sun for hours. The dual-touchscreen infotainment system keeps navigation and media controls separate for ease of use, while the integration of premium leather and soft-touch materials creates a truly upscale atmosphere. Acoustic glass and extensive sound dampening help to isolate the cabin from wind noise during high-speed highway travel, allowing you to fully enjoy the Bose audio system. Rear passengers also benefit from dedicated climate vents, ensuring comfort throughout the vehicle during the peak of summer.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the Infiniti brand, and the 2023 QX55 ESSENTIAL comes equipped with a formidable array of protective technologies. The ProPILOT Assist system is particularly valuable for GCC drivers, as it combines steering assist and intelligent cruise control to reduce fatigue during long desert drives or heavy stop-and-go traffic. Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Prevention are essential features on our multi-lane highways, providing active corrections to keep you safely in your lane. The vehicle also features Predictive Forward Collision Warning, which can actually monitor the speed and distance of two vehicles ahead, giving you extra reaction time in the event of a sudden stop. With its 5-Star safety rating and a suite of airbags that provide 360-degree protection, this car offers the highest level of security for you and your passengers. These systems are calibrated to work effectively in our unique environment, ensuring reliable performance regardless of visibility or weather conditions.

The bottom line

This 2023 Infiniti QX55 ESSENTIAL is a perfect match for the style-conscious professional who wants a low-mileage, GCC-spec luxury crossover that is still practically new. With its rare color, premium audio, and advanced safety tech, it offers a sophisticated driving experience that is better valued than its European rivals.
