Summary

This 2023 Infiniti QX55 in the range-topping SENSORY trim represents a rare opportunity to acquire a virtually brand-new vehicle that has barely touched the tarmac of the UAE. As a GCC-spec model with delivery-level mileage, it bypasses the initial steep depreciation of a showroom purchase while offering the full peace of mind that comes with regional warranty and service compatibility. The QX55 stands out in the crowded crossover market with its dramatic coupe-inspired silhouette, offering a more aggressive and exclusive aesthetic than the standard QX50 or its more conservative European rivals. In the GCC, the black-on-black color profile is a perennial favorite, ensuring high demand and strong resale value when you eventually decide to upgrade. This specific unit is ideal for a buyer who wants the latest Japanese engineering and luxury without the typical six-month waiting list for new arrivals. Ownership is further simplified by the extensive Infiniti service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, making it a practical yet stylish choice for the region.

This Car vs Other 2023 QX55s

With just 63 km on the odometer, this vehicle is essentially in a league of its own compared to other 2023 models currently on the market. While a typical 2023 model in the GCC would likely have covered between 15,000 and 25,000 km by now, this unit offers the pristine condition of a showroom floor model. The black exterior is not just a stylistic choice but a strategic one for the local market; it remains one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and wider GCC, consistently commanding a premium and selling faster than brighter or more niche paint options. Choosing a GCC-spec vehicle like this one ensures that the cooling systems, radiator, and interior materials are all specifically designed to withstand the intense 45°C+ summer heat experienced in the region. This is a significant advantage over imported American or European units which may struggle with the local climate or lack full service history integration with local distributors.

SENSORY vs Lower Trims

Stepping into the SENSORY trim elevates the experience significantly beyond the base LUXE or mid-range ESSENTIAL grades. This top-tier specification includes the full suite of Infiniti's most desirable features, most notably the upgraded Bose Performance Series 16-speaker audio system which provides an immersive acoustic environment that masks road noise during long highway commutes. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the inclusion of climate-controlled semi-aniline leather seats, which offer both heating and cooling—a vital feature for maintaining comfort during the peak of summer in the Middle East. Additionally, the SENSORY trim adds a sophisticated Head-Up Display and enhanced interior ambient lighting, which creates a more premium atmosphere for evening drives through the city. It also features the advanced ProPILOT Assist system as standard, whereas lower trims often require these safety and convenience technologies as optional extras or omit them entirely.

QX55 vs Segment Rivals

The Infiniti QX55 competes directly with heavyweights like the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, but it carves out its own niche by offering a higher level of standard equipment at a more competitive price point. While European rivals often require expensive packages to unlock premium audio and advanced driver aids, this SENSORY trim includes them as standard. The 2.0L Variable Compression Turbo engine is a unique piece of engineering that rivals cannot match, adjusting its compression ratio on the fly to provide either maximum power for overtaking on the E11 or maximum efficiency for steady-state cruising. For the GCC driver, the QX55 offers a slightly more supple ride quality than the often-stiffly sprung German competitors, making it better suited for the diverse road surfaces found between Dubai and Muscat. The generous standard features and the reliability associated with Japanese luxury brands make it a more sensible long-term choice for those who value both form and function.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a QX55 in the GCC is remarkably efficient thanks to the VC-Turbo engine, which typically returns about 8.5 to 9.0 L/100km on the highway and roughly 11.5 L/100km in the stop-start traffic of Riyadh or Dubai. This fuel efficiency is paired with a reasonably sized tank that ensures fewer stops during cross-emirate trips. As a GCC-spec Infiniti, the vehicle benefits from a robust regional service network with authorized centers located in every major city across the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that genuine parts and expert technicians are always accessible. Historically, the QX55 has shown a slower depreciation curve than its European counterparts, typically losing only 10-12% of its value annually compared to the 15-18% seen in some German luxury crossovers. This makes it a safer financial harbor for your capital over a three-to-five-year ownership period. Furthermore, the 2023 model year benefits from the latest software updates, ensuring the infotainment and safety systems remain relevant for several years to come.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the world’s first production variable compression turbocharged engine, which delivers a seamless blend of power and poise. For highway driving in the UAE, the 2.0L engine provides ample torque for confident overtaking and effortless cruising at 140 km/h. While this specific model is a Front Wheel Drive configuration, it is optimized for urban and highway efficiency, providing a lighter and more agile feel in city traffic than the heavier All-Wheel Drive variants. The 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved with smooth urgency, thanks to the refined Automatic transmission that mimics traditional gear shifts for a more engaging feel. Ground clearance is sufficient for navigating the high curbs and occasional gravel paths found in developing suburban areas, though it remains a road-focused crossover designed for the tarmac. The steering is light and precise, making the QX55 surprisingly easy to maneuver in tight underground parking lots in Downtown Dubai or West Bay.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the SENSORY trim is a showcase of Japanese craftsmanship, featuring a 4-seat configuration that prioritizes individual passenger space and luxury. The cabin is exceptionally well-insulated from the outside world, using active noise cancellation to keep the interior serene even during high-speed highway travel. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for the Middle Eastern climate, with powerful compressors and strategically placed vents that can cool the cabin from 50°C to a comfortable level in a matter of minutes. Premium materials, including open-pore wood trim and soft-touch leathers, create a sophisticated environment that feels more bespoke than mass-market crossovers. The dual-screen infotainment system allows for seamless navigation while simultaneously managing media and climate settings, and the inclusion of both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensures modern connectivity. For the driver, the ergonomic layout of the cockpit ensures that all controls are within easy reach, reducing fatigue during long weekend road trips across the borders.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the SENSORY trim, which comes equipped with the comprehensive ProPILOT Assist suite. This system is particularly beneficial on the long, straight highways of the GCC, where adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist help maintain a safe distance and position with minimal driver effort. Predictive Forward Collision Warning is an essential feature for local driving, as it can sense the speed and distance of two vehicles ahead, providing an extra layer of warning before a potential incident occurs. Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Prevention are vital for the fast-paced, multi-lane environments of the UAE's major arteries, where traffic can merge unexpectedly. The vehicle also features a 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, which is incredibly helpful when navigating through narrow city streets or tight parking spots. These active systems, combined with a robust airbag arrangement and high-strength steel construction, provide maximum protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This 2023 Infiniti QX55 SENSORY is a perfect match for the professional who wants a distinctive, high-spec luxury crossover without the 'as-new' price tag or the long delivery wait. Given its delivery mileage and GCC-spec status, it is one of the most compelling and low-risk opportunities currently available in the regional used car market.
