Summary

This 2023 Grand Cherokee Limited offers a refined balance of luxury and genuine capability, featuring the latest WL platform for a smoother ride than its predecessors. The black exterior remains the most sought-after resale color in the GCC, ensuring strong value retention when it comes time for your next upgrade. With its Pentastar V6, this SUV is built to handle both high-speed highway commutes between emirates and weekend family adventures with ease. The Limited trim provides a significant jump in cabin quality over base models, making it a sophisticated choice for those who value daily comfort without sacrificing the rugged Jeep DNA. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it comes equipped with the necessary cooling and regional adaptations to thrive in extreme summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2023 Grand Cherokees

With 79,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is slightly above the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, yet it represents a well-traveled example suited for the region's vast highway networks. The black-on-black color configuration is the strongest possible combination for resale liquidity in the local market. Choosing a 2023 model over older generations ensures you have the most up-to-date safety tech and the improved fuel efficiency of the latest architecture.

Limited vs Lower Trims

The Limited trim is a substantial step up from the Laredo, introducing high-grade Capri leather-trimmed upholstery and power-adjustable seats with memory functions. It adds essential GCC luxury features like a heated steering wheel, a larger 10.1-inch Uconnect touchscreen, and the premium Alpine audio system. Crucially for the region, it also includes a power liftgate and remote vehicle start, allowing you to pre-cool the cabin before stepping inside during the summer months.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

The Grand Cherokee leads rivals like the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot by offering the Selec-Terrain system, which provides specific mechanical calibrations for sand and rock that most crossovers lack. Its 93-liter fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, offering superior range for long-distance desert drives or cross-border travel. Furthermore, the Jeep's iconic brand prestige in the GCC often translates to faster resale times compared to its American and Japanese segment competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.6L V6 typically averages around 10.7L/100km on the highway, though GCC stop-start city traffic will see this rise toward 13.5L/100km. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km or 6 months across a vast authorized network that includes major facilities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Muscat. While European luxury SUVs in this segment can lose up to 18% of their value annually, the Grand Cherokee maintains a steadier depreciation curve, typically retaining over 50% of its value after three years in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

The 293-horsepower V6 engine provides reliable power for highway overtaking and light desert duty, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifts. It boasts a maximum ground clearance of 216 mm, allowing it to navigate rough tracks and wadis that would challenge road-biased crossovers. For those with active lifestyles, the 2,812 kg towing capacity is more than sufficient for pulling jet skis or a medium-sized camper for winter weekend trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five-passenger comfort, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool in 45°C+ temperatures. The Limited trim's acoustic glass and enhanced insulation provide a quiet sanctuary from wind noise during fast highway cruises. The interior is rounded out by ambient lighting and a high-resolution digital cockpit that keeps all essential vehicle data clearly visible in direct sunlight.

Safety

This Limited trim comes standard with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are vital for multi-lane highway driving. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go makes long-distance travel between emirates significantly less taxing for the driver. Additionally, a 360-degree camera system and front/rear parking sensors with stop capability make maneuvering this full-size SUV in tight city parking structures effortless.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a premium family SUV with genuine weekend capability, this 2023 Limited in the region's best resale color is a highly practical and prestigious choice.
