Summary

This 2023 Jetour X90 Plus Luxury offers a compelling entry point for GCC families seeking a seven-seat SUV with high-end tech and modern road presence. With the more powerful 2.0L engine, it bridges the gap between budget versatility and genuine performance, delivering 390 Nm of torque for effortless highway overtaking. The purple exterior makes for a unique, sophisticated look that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, while the GCC regional specification ensures the cooling systems are built for the local heat. Its combination of a spacious three-row cabin and Chery-backed engineering provides a reliable solution for both city commuting and long-distance cross-emirate travel.

This Car vs Other 2023 X90 Pluss

With 57,398 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits within the typical annual mileage range for the GCC, where long-distance commutes are standard. Compared to other 2023 models often found with very low 'showroom' mileage, this example has been properly driven and maintained, offering a better value proposition for a practical family workhorse. The unique purple finish provides a high-end aesthetic that differentiates it from the fleet-like appearance of more common colors in the secondary market.

LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Luxury trim is the definitive choice for the GCC climate, adding essential ventilated front seats that are absent on the Comfort grade. It also upgrades the safety and tech suite with a standard 360-degree panoramic camera, blind-spot monitoring, and a premium 12-speaker audio system. Larger 20-inch star-shaped alloy wheels and an upgraded Nappa leather interior provide a significantly more premium feel than the base 1.6T models.

X90 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The X90 Plus leads rivals like the Dongfeng AX7 and MG RX8 by offering a significantly larger 2.0L turbocharged engine with 254 hp, providing better high-speed stability on UAE highways. Its 2,850 mm wheelbase is one of the longest in the mid-size segment, resulting in superior middle-row legroom that cross-shoppers will immediately notice compared to more compact crossovers. Furthermore, the dual 12.3-inch digital cockpit screens offer a more modern tech interface than many established Japanese entry-level seven-seaters.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0T engine averages approximately 8.1 to 8.3 L/100km on the highway, though this can rise in GCC stop-start city traffic. Maintenance is supported by an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals typically set at 10,000 km. While Chinese brands generally face steeper initial depreciation than Japanese marques, the X90 Plus has shown resilient value retention in the GCC due to its high feature-to-price ratio and the growing reputation of Chery-affiliated engineering.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers a robust 390 Nm of torque, which translates to a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 8 seconds—a highly respectable figure for a seven-seat SUV. On the road, the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission provides smooth shifts suited for the long desert highways between emirates. With a maximum ground clearance of 210 mm, it is well-equipped to handle gravel roads and weekend trips to the outskirts, though its front-wheel-drive configuration is best suited for tarmac and light trails rather than heavy dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring seven seats with a genuine 2.21 meters of cumulative rear longitudinal space for passenger comfort. For the GCC summer, the powerful automatic climate control includes dedicated rear AC vents to ensure the third row remains cool during extreme heat. The panoramic sunroof features a high-quality shade to block out the midday sun, while the acoustic hood and sound insulation technology keep the interior quiet during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

Safety is managed by a high-strength cage body and a suite of active aids including Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Lane Departure Warning, which are particularly useful on multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The Luxury trim includes multiple airbags and ISOFIX anchors as standard, providing peace of mind for family travel. The 360-degree camera system is a critical addition for a vehicle of this length, making parking in tight urban spaces significantly safer and easier.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer who needs seven seats and premium features without the luxury-brand price tag, this 2.0T Luxury trim is the smartest pick in the X90 Plus lineup. It offers the best balance of local climate suitability, engine power, and family-ready technology available on the market today.
