Summary

This 2023 Kia Pegas EX is a prime example of an efficient, modern commuter tailored for the GCC market. With mileage sitting significantly below the local annual average, it offers a nearly new driving experience while benefiting from the initial depreciation curve. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering the best heat reflection and the highest resale liquidity in the UAE and wider Gulf. As the top-spec EX trim, it bridges the gap between budget economy and essential modern tech, making it a reliable choice for city professionals and small families alike.

This Car vs Other 2023 Kia Pegass

With just over 28,000 km, this Pegas has been driven considerably less than the 40,000–50,000 km typical for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The white paintwork is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than darker shades. This lower-than-average usage combined with a popular color makes it a standout entry in the current pre-owned market.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base LX, most notably adding cruise control for relaxed highway driving between emirates and 14-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the EX features an upgraded artificial leather interior and a 7-inch touchscreen with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These additions are highly valued by GCC buyers who prioritize cabin technology and a more premium feel during the daily commute.

Pegas vs Segment Rivals

The Pegas leads its segment with a substantial 475-litre boot, outclassing rivals like the Mitsubishi Attrage for luggage capacity. Its 1.4-litre 4-cylinder engine offers a smoother power delivery and more refinement at highway speeds compared to the 3-cylinder alternatives found in many competitors. For long-distance driving in the Gulf, the larger boot and more stable engine configuration make it the more versatile choice.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low, with a verified fuel efficiency of 5.7 L/100km that makes it one of the most economical petrol cars for Dubai's stop-start traffic. Kia maintains one of the strongest authorised service footprints across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. Historically, the Pegas holds its value well in the sub-compact segment, depreciating slower than European rivals due to its reputation for mechanical simplicity and cooling reliability.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.4L MPI engine producing 95 hp, the Pegas is engineered for urban agility and steady highway cruising. The 4-speed automatic transmission is geared for fuel efficiency, easily handling the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE. With a turning circle of just 5.2 metres, it is one of the easiest vehicles to park and navigate through dense city centers and tight shopping mall garages.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to maximise space, offering impressive rear legroom that comfortably seats three adults. The EX-specific artificial leather seats are durable and easy to maintain in the dusty GCC environment, while the air conditioning is specifically tuned to handle 45°C+ summer peaks effectively. Thoughtful storage solutions and a leather-wrapped steering wheel elevate the interior beyond its budget-friendly price point.

Safety

Safety is managed by a standard suite including dual front airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The EX trim adds rear parking sensors and a rearview camera, providing essential assistance for tight city parking. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is a vital inclusion for GCC drivers, helping to monitor tyre health during extreme heat and long highway journeys.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking maximum fuel economy and low maintenance without sacrificing modern smartphone connectivity, this low-mileage EX trim Pegas is the smartest choice in the sub-compact market.
