Summary

This Range Rover HSE offers a compelling buying opportunity with only 33,364 km on the odometer, representing significantly lower-than-average mileage for a three-year-old luxury SUV in the GCC. The P530 powertrain delivers substantial V8 performance that rivals top-tier sports cars while maintaining the serene ride quality the model is famous for. Its black-on-black color combination remains one of the most sought-after palettes in the UAE, ensuring strong resale demand. For the GCC buyer, this represents the sweet spot of the L460 generation—already through its initial depreciation but still presenting like a nearly new vehicle.

This Car vs Other 2023 Range Rovers

At 33,364 km, this vehicle has been driven roughly 11,000 km per year, which is less than half of the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen across the GCC. This low usage helps preserve the interior leather and mechanical components from the wear typically associated with heavy regional commuting. The classic black exterior is a primary resale driver in the local market, making it far easier to trade in later compared to niche colors.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim bridges the gap between the base SE and the top-tier Autobiography, adding essential GCC luxuries such as the 3D Surround Camera and ventilated seats that are vital for the local summer. Unlike the base 6-cylinder models, this HSE features the BMW-sourced 4.4L V8, providing the effortless highway overtaking power that regional drivers expect. It also includes upgraded Windsor leather and the higher-output Meridian 3D Surround Sound system as standard.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover leads rivals like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS with a class-leading 900 mm wading depth and its sophisticated Terrain Response 2 system, making it genuinely capable for desert excursions. While German competitors often prioritize on-road stiffness, the Range Rover's electronic air suspension provides superior isolation from road noise and heat. Its all-wheel steering system gives it a tighter turning circle than many smaller SUVs, a massive advantage in tight Dubai or Riyadh parking.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.4L twin-turbo V8 averages approximately 12–14 L/100km in combined GCC driving, reflecting the stop-start nature of city traffic. Maintenance in the UAE is streamlined through an extensive authorized network with major service centers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, typically following 13,000 km or 12-month intervals. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a significant value premium over imported American or European models, which often face warranty and cooling system compatibility challenges in the region.

Performance & Capability

The P530 V8 engine produces 523 hp, launching this 5-seater to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds—performance that is particularly impressive during high-speed highway merging. The vehicle features a maximum ground clearance of 295 mm and standard all-wheel steering, allowing for exceptional maneuverability both on rocky trails and in city traffic. Multiple terrain modes adjust the dampers and differentials instantly, ensuring the car is as comfortable on a sand dune as it is on the E11 highway.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC heat, featuring a high-capacity climate control system with dedicated rear vents and ventilated front seating. The 13.1-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen is crisp and intuitive, controlling everything from the cabin air purification to the 360-degree camera views. High-quality acoustic glass and thick insulation ensure that even at 120 km/h, the cabin remains quiet enough for easy conversation.

Safety

Safety is managed by a full ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, which is indispensable for long drives between Emirates. Standard features also include high-speed Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Assist, and a ClearSight interior rearview mirror that provides an unobstructed video feed of the road behind. The 360° 3D Surround Camera is particularly useful for navigating large SUV dimensions through narrow urban spaces.

The bottom line

For the executive or family buyer seeking the latest L460 generation without the waitlist, this low-mileage, V8-powered HSE is the ideal GCC-spec choice. It offers the perfect balance of performance and luxury in the market's most liquid color combination.
