Summary

This 2-year-old Range Rover SE strikes a perfect balance in the GCC market, offering the flagship 4.4L V8 performance with a mileage profile that aligns well with local highway-heavy usage. The black-on-black color combination remains one of the most sought-after palettes for high-end luxury SUVs in the region, ensuring consistently strong demand and resale liquidity. As the P530 variant, it delivers the effortless overtaking power essential for long-distance cruising between emirates, distinguishing itself from the entry-level six-cylinder models. While it is a Canadian spec, its mechanical parity with the global L460 platform means it shares the same world-class refinement and cooling capabilities found in its GCC counterparts. For a buyer seeking current-generation prestige without the first-year depreciation hit, this listing represents a highly strategic entry point into the flagship Range Rover experience.

This Car vs Other 2024 Range Rovers

With 43,438 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a typical mileage for a 2-year-old executive SUV in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 20,000 to 25,000 km due to frequent inter-city travel. The black exterior is a high-demand resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, often commanding a quicker sale turnaround than more adventurous shades. Its current mileage means it has moved past the initial run-in period while remaining fresh enough to deliver the tight, refined handling characteristic of the L460 generation.

SE vs Lower Trims

As the V8 SE, this car steps up significantly from the P400 I6 models, trading the smaller engine for the twin-turbo 4.4L V8 that provides the quintessential 'big Rover' feel. This trim includes the essential Terrain Response 2 system and All-Wheel Steering as standard, features that are often optional on lesser models but critical for maneuvering a vehicle of this size in tight urban car parks or sandy weekend escapes. You also gain ventilated front and rear seats, a non-negotiable luxury for maintaining cabin comfort during the peak GCC summer months.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW X7 or Mercedes-Benz GLS, the Range Rover offers superior off-road geometry and a significantly higher wading depth of 900 mm, providing peace of mind during the region's occasional but heavy rain events. Its standard air suspension offers a wider range of height adjustment than rivals, allowing it to transition from a low-profile highway cruiser to a high-clearance explorer at the touch of a button. The 90-litre fuel tank also provides a superior range for cross-border trips compared to smaller-capacity competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The P530 V8 is engineered for high-performance efficiency, though real-world GCC city driving in stop-start traffic will see consumption higher than the combined 12L/100km laboratory figure. Service intervals in the GCC are recommended every 10,000 to 13,000 km to protect the turbochargers from heat-induced oil degradation. While Canadian specs may not carry a local manufacturer warranty, the extensive network of independent specialists across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that parts and expert maintenance are readily available. This generation of Range Rover typically sees a depreciation of 12-15% annually after the initial first-year drop, holding value better than previous iterations due to high global demand.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 4.6-second 0–100 km/h sprint, which allows this nearly 2.5-tonne SUV to outrun many dedicated sports cars. On the highway, the 750 Nm of torque provides instant, silent acceleration for overtaking at speed, while the standard four-wheel steering makes it feel as agile as a much smaller vehicle in city traffic. For the weekend enthusiast, the electronic air suspension can lift the body to provide 11.7 inches of ground clearance, enabling it to navigate sandy tracks and coastal terrain that would stop most other luxury crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of quiet, utilizing acoustic laminated glass to isolate passengers from the noise of the external environment and high-speed wind buffeting. Both front and rear passengers enjoy ventilated Windsor leather seating, ensuring the cooling system remains effective for everyone even when the outside temperature exceeds 45°C. The 13.1-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen is the center of the experience, offering wireless smartphone integration and a high-resolution 3D surround camera system that is invaluable for navigating narrow villa streets.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a full suite of ADAS features including Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, which is particularly helpful for reducing fatigue on the long, straight highways of the UAE and KSA. The 3D Surround Camera provides a virtual overhead view of the car, while Blind Spot Assist and Rear Traffic Monitor provide critical alerts in the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic common in major GCC cities. Standard Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist act as a constant safety net, monitoring surroundings to intervene if a potential collision is detected.

The bottom line

This 2024 V8 SE is for the buyer who demands flagship Range Rover performance and the right color spec without the premium of a brand-new showroom unit. It represents a mature, high-value opportunity to own the current-generation L460 in its most capable V8 form.
