Summary

This 2023 Lotus Emira First Edition is a standout opportunity for enthusiasts in the GCC, combining the brand's legendary handling with a level of daily luxury never seen in its predecessors. With just under 13,000 km, the mileage is exceptionally low for the region, placing it well below the typical 20,000 km annual average for used performance cars in the UAE. The striking blue exterior is a highly desirable shade for this model, offering strong curb appeal and better-than-average resale liquidity compared to more niche launch colors. As the final combustion-powered sports car from Hethel, this V6 First Edition represents a significant piece of automotive history that is perfectly suited for the UAE's well-maintained highway network. For a GCC buyer, the integration of a reliable Toyota-sourced powertrain means easier long-term maintenance compared to more temperamental European exotics.

This Car vs Other 2023 Emiras

At 12,975 km, this Emira has been driven significantly less than the typical 2023 model in the GCC, which often exceeds 35,000 km given the region's highway-heavy lifestyle. This lower usage preserves the integrity of the Alcantara and leather interior and ensures the supercharged V6 has barely been broken in. In a market where many launch models were finished in bright yellow or grey, this deep blue example offers a sophisticated alternative that holds its value well in the secondary luxury market.

FIRST EDITION vs Lower Trims

The First Edition comes fully optioned as standard, including the Driver’s Pack with a choice of Tour or Sport suspension settings and the Design Pack which adds privacy glass and sports pedals. It also includes the KEF premium audio system and the Lower Black Pack, features that often carry a significant premium or long wait times on the base V6 models. Crucially for the GCC climate, this trim includes climate control and high-definition parking sensors that make daily driving in urban centers like Dubai or Riyadh far more manageable.

Emira vs Segment Rivals

The Emira leads rivals like the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and Alpine A110 S in pure visual drama, often being mistaken for a supercar twice its price. Its hydraulic steering rack provides a level of tactile feedback that modern electric systems in competitors cannot match, making it the preferred choice for enthusiasts at Yas Marina Circuit. Furthermore, the 3.5L V6 offers a more soulful, mechanical soundtrack than the turbocharged four-cylinders found in many German alternatives.

Running Costs & Resale

The supercharged V6 is known for its durability, with service intervals typically set at 12 months or 16,000 km, aligning well with GCC ownership patterns. As a First Edition model, it benefits from a verified production limit which helps buffer depreciation better than high-volume sports cars. Parts availability is supported by a growing authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that maintaining this British icon is a straightforward process for local owners.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp output allows for effortless highway overtaking and a top speed of 290 km/h, making it a capable grand tourer for long-distance drives between Emirates. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for rapid shifts in Sport mode while remaining smooth in city traffic, delivering 420 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. Its mid-engine layout provides exceptional balance, ensuring the car remains planted through the high-speed curves of the Jebel Hafeet mountain road.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a major leap forward for Lotus, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen with integrated Apple CarPlay and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. Unlike previous models, the Emira provides genuine storage space with 208 litres behind the seats and a 151-litre rear boot, enough for a weekend road trip. The air conditioning system has been redesigned for global markets, providing the cooling performance necessary to handle the peak summer heat of the Middle East.

Safety

This trim features a comprehensive safety suite including Front Collision Alert, Fatigue Alert, and Lane Departure Warning, which are essential for fast-moving GCC highway traffic. The inclusion of a 360-degree parking camera and rear sensors provides confidence when navigating tight parking structures. Its high-strength bonded aluminum chassis offers exceptional structural rigidity, providing both performance benefits and enhanced occupant protection.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a GCC collector or driver to own the last petrol-powered Lotus in a high-spec, low-mileage package that balances track-ready dynamics with daily usability.
