Summary

This 2023 Lotus Emira First Edition is a standout opportunity for enthusiasts in the GCC, combining the brand's legendary handling with a level of daily luxury never seen in its predecessors. With just 15,000 km, the mileage is exceptionally low for the region, placing it well below the typical 20,000 km annual average for used performance cars in the UAE. The crisp White exterior is a highly desirable shade for this model, offering strong curb appeal and better-than-average resale liquidity in the local market. As the final combustion-powered sports car from Hethel, this V6 First Edition represents a significant piece of automotive history that is perfectly suited for the UAE's well-maintained highway network. For a GCC buyer, the integration of a reliable Toyota-sourced powertrain means easier long-term maintenance compared to more temperamental European exotics.

This Car vs Other 2023 Emiras

With only 15,000 km on the odometer, this Emira has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. This low-mileage status suggests the vehicle has spent most of its three years in climate-controlled storage rather than enduring daily commutes. The White exterior is one of the most resilient colors for the UAE climate, reflecting heat effectively and maintaining its resale value better than darker or more niche launch shades.

FIRST EDITION vs Lower Trims

The First Edition is the highest specification available, adding essential features that GCC buyers value, such as 12-way power-adjustable heated seats and a premium KEF 10-speaker audio system. It also includes the Lotus Driver's Pack as standard, which provides a switchable track mode and a limited-slip differential for superior traction. Unlike the later base models, the First Edition comes fully equipped with the Design and Convenience packs, offering front parking sensors and auto-dimming mirrors.

Emira vs Segment Rivals

The Emira is frequently cross-shopped with the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and the Alpine A110, but it stands out with its exotic 'baby supercar' styling and hydraulic steering rack that offers unmatched feedback. Its 3.5L supercharged V6 provides a mechanical soul and linear power delivery that turbocharged rivals lack. Additionally, the Emira offers more cabin width and a more modern infotainment interface than the aging architecture of its closest German competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The Toyota-derived V6 engine is famously robust, making the Emira one of the most reliable mid-engined cars to own in the GCC. Fuel consumption averages around 10.2 L/100km on the highway, though city driving in heavy Dubai traffic will see this rise. Service centers are well-established in the UAE via authorized distributors, and the car's 80-liter fuel tank provides ample range for cross-emirate drives. Resale values for V6 manual examples remain exceptionally strong, often retaining over 80% of their value after three years due to their status as the 'last of a breed'.

Performance & Capability

Generating 400 hp and 420 Nm of torque, the supercharged V6 delivers urgent acceleration and a top speed of 290 km/h. The six-speed manual transmission features a beautiful exposed gear linkage, providing a tactile connection that is increasingly rare in modern sports cars. The touring chassis is specifically tuned to handle the high-speed undulations of GCC highways while maintaining enough compliance for city speed bumps.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cabin is a massive step forward for Lotus, featuring premium Alcantara and Nappa leather throughout. The air conditioning system is engineered to cope with extreme summer temperatures, supported by dedicated vents and high-quality cabin insulation. Technology highlights include a 12.3-inch digital cockpit and a 10.25-inch central touchscreen with full smartphone integration, ensuring comfort during long drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Safety

Safety is managed through a lightweight, ultra-rigid bonded aluminum chassis and a comprehensive suite of modern aids. Standard equipment on this First Edition includes a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and cruise control for relaxed highway cruising. The hydraulic power steering provides an authentic mechanical connection to the road, allowing for precise control on fast-moving multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a GCC enthusiast who wants supercar aesthetics and analogue driving thrills without the maintenance headaches of a fragile exotic. Its low mileage and First Edition status make it one of the most collectible and road-ready examples currently available in the region.
