Summary

This 2023 Mercedes-Benz V 250 Avantgarde/E represents a sophisticated choice for executive transport or large family logistics in the GCC. At 3 years old with 98,941 km, the mileage reflects typical highway use for a premium MPV in this region, where long-distance travel is common. The black exterior is highly sought after in the UAE market, ensuring strong resale liquidity and a professional aesthetic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for local conditions, featuring a cooling system and interior materials designed to withstand extreme summer temperatures. This trim effectively bridges the gap between commercial utility and S-Class levels of refinement.

This Car vs Other 2023 V 250s

Compared to many city-driven MPVs, this vehicle has covered distance at a rate consistent with GCC highway use, which often results in less engine wear than stop-start urban traffic. The black finish remains one of the top two resale colors in the region, providing a significant advantage over less conventional shades. As a 3-year-old model, it has navigated its steepest depreciation curve while retaining the modern MBUX infotainment architecture.

AVANTGARDE/E vs Lower Trims

The Avantgarde trim significantly upgrades the V-Class experience with the Intelligent Light System, featuring full LED headlamps and 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it replaces standard materials with premium leather upholstery and adds ambient lighting with multiple color profiles. Crucially for the GCC, this trim includes 360-degree cameras and power-operated sliding doors on both sides as standard, features often missing on the base versions.

V 250 vs Segment Rivals

The V 250 stands apart from the Toyota Granvia and Kia Carnival by offering a rear-wheel-drive platform that delivers a more composed, car-like driving dynamic on highways. While rivals focus on utility, the Mercedes provides a massive 1,030-liter boot space even with all eight seats occupied, a metric that leads most of the segment. The integration of the MBUX system provides a level of digital connectivity and voice control that its Japanese and Korean counterparts cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine is designed for efficiency on long hauls, though GCC stop-start traffic will see consumption rise to approximately 12.5 L/100km. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability is never an issue. Historically, the V-Class retains roughly 60-65% of its value at the 3-year mark in the GCC, outperforming most non-German luxury vans.

Performance & Capability

The 211 hp engine provides a smooth 350 Nm of torque, allowing for confident highway overtaking even when fully loaded with eight passengers. Its 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for refinement, ensuring gear changes are nearly imperceptible during long cruises between emirates. The rear-wheel-drive setup allows for a tighter turning circle than expected for a vehicle of this length, making it surprisingly manageable in tight hotel driveways or mall parking.

Comfort & Cabin

Configured as a true 8-seater, the cabin features a versatile rail system that allows seats to be moved or faced toward each other for a mobile conference layout. The multi-zone climate control system includes dedicated rear ceiling vents to ensure all passengers remain cool during peak summer months. Acoustic glass and extensive sound insulation keep the cabin remarkably quiet, shielding occupants from high-speed wind noise on desert motorways.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this trim includes Active Brake Assist and the Attention Assist system, which monitors driver fatigue during long cross-border drives. Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist provide essential support on fast-moving multi-lane highways like E11. The vehicle is also equipped with Crosswind Assist, a critical feature for maintaining stability when passing heavy trucks or encountering sudden gusts on open desert roads.

The bottom line

This V 250 is the ideal solution for a buyer needing maximum seating capacity without sacrificing the prestige and comfort of a Mercedes-Benz sedan. It is a strategically sound purchase for a business or large family looking for a modern, GCC-ready luxury bus with high resale potential.
