Summary

This 2023 Outlander Premium hits a sweet spot for families, offering three rows of seating and the security of Super All-Wheel Control. With 79,000 km over three years, it has been driven at a typical pace for the UAE’s highway-centric lifestyle and presents beautifully in resale-friendly white. As the Premium trim, it bridges the gap between utility and luxury with features usually reserved for higher-priced rivals. This model stands out for its refreshed, bold design and its reputation for mechanical resilience in high-temperature environments. For a GCC buyer, the peace of mind provided by one of the region's strongest service networks is the deciding factor.

This Car vs Other 2023 Outlanders

With 79,000 km, this vehicle falls within the expected usage range for a three-year-old family SUV in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 25,000 km. Its white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, ensuring it retains maximum appeal for future resale. Choosing a GCC-spec model over imports ensures the cooling systems and filters are optimized for extreme desert heat.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience with a 360-degree camera system, making parking this 7-seater effortless in tight city spaces. It also adds a panoramic sunroof and premium leather upholstery, providing a more upscale feel than the base cloth-seat variants. You also benefit from advanced safety tech like blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control that are often absent on lower grades.

Outlander vs Segment Rivals

The Outlander competes directly with the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail, but leads the Honda by offering a third row of seating for two extra passengers. Its Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system is also more sophisticated than basic AWD setups, providing better stability on gravel or during heavy rain. The cabin insulation is specifically tuned to keep out highway noise and high external temperatures better than many in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is efficient for its size, averaging roughly 9.0 L/100km in mixed driving, which translates well to both city traffic and long-distance highway cruises between emirates. Mitsubishi's authorized service centers are available in every major GCC city, ensuring parts and maintenance are always accessible and affordable. The Outlander remains a top-tier Japanese brand for value retention, typically depreciating slower than its European competitors over a 3-year period.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L engine delivers 184 hp, providing steady power for highway overtaking and the confidence to handle weekend trips to the desert periphery. Its S-AWC system offers multiple drive modes, including Gravel and Mud, ensuring the 4WD system adapts instantly to changing surfaces. With a 200 km/h top speed and a 10.4-second 0-100 km/h time, it is engineered for comfortable, stable cruising rather than aggressive speed.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is versatile, with flat-folding rear rows that expand cargo space for larger shopping trips or family holidays. High-efficiency air conditioning with rear vents is standard, a necessity for the GCC climate, ensuring the cabin stays cool even in peak summer. The digital cockpit and premium audio system provide a modern, connected environment for long cross-border drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this Premium trim includes a full suite of airbags and the MI-PILOT Assist platform, which integrates adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance. For GCC highways, the blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert provide essential support against fast-moving traffic. The vehicle’s stability control is also calibrated to handle the sandy or dusty conditions frequently encountered on regional roads.

The bottom line

This Outlander Premium is the ideal choice for a growing family that needs seven seats and modern safety tech without the luxury-brand price tag. At three years old and in the most popular regional spec, it represents a stable, high-reliability investment in today's used market.
