Nissan Patrol LE PLATINUM CITY

Highlights

• 400 hp from a 5.6-litre V8
• 140-litre fuel tank capacity
• 3,500 kg braked towing capacity

Summary

This Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City represents the top-tier luxury specification of the region’s most respected SUV. With just 57,787 km on the odometer, it has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average found in the UAE market, making it a standout choice for long-term ownership. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after resale color in the GCC, offering a sophisticated look that holds its value better than more niche options. While rivals focus on smaller displacement engines, this Patrol retains the legendary 5.6L V8 that provides the necessary cooling and power for extreme desert summers. For any serious GCC buyer, the combination of Nissan’s massive service network and this trim’s high-end cabin tech makes it the definitive all-rounder for both city commutes and cross-border road trips.

This Car vs Other 2023 Patrols

With approximately 57,700 km, this vehicle’s usage is below the average expected for a large SUV in the GCC, which often sees high highway usage. Its Grey finish provides a distinct resale advantage in the local market, where neutral tones are preferred for heat reflection and long-term value. Choosing this specific unit ensures a balance of modern model-year tech and mechanical longevity.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is the flagship of the lineup, significantly upgrading the cabin over the Titanium trim with quilted leather seating and a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system. It includes the 'City Bumper' for a more aggressive road presence and adds a dual 10.1-inch rear-seat entertainment system that is essential for family comfort in the region. Unlike lower trims, this model features the Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system, providing superior stability during high-speed highway cornering.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the Patrol offers a traditional naturally aspirated V8 that many GCC drivers prefer for its proven durability and linear power delivery in deep sand. Its 140-litre fuel tank surpasses the capacity of the Chevrolet Tahoe, providing significantly longer range for cross-emirate drives. The interior space and row-three accessibility remain leading factors that make it a more versatile choice for large families than many European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 typically averages 16–18 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions, with efficiency improving on long highway stretches between cities. Service centers are available in every major city across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and maintenance is convenient. Historically, the V8 Patrol retains approximately 80% of its value after three years in the GCC market, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine allows for smooth overtaking on fast-moving highways and provides a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity for boats or trailers. Equipped with a specialized low-range transfer case and selectable terrain modes (Sand, On-road, Snow, Rock), it is built for the dunes as much as the city. The factory-rated top speed of 210 km/h is supported by a 7-speed automatic transmission designed to handle the high-torque demands of desert driving.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features eight seats arranged in a spacious 2-3-3 configuration, with ventilated and heated front seats to tackle the local summer heat. A powerful three-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents ensures all passengers remain cool, even when exterior temperatures exceed 45°C. The cabin is further refined with a built-in refrigerator in the center console and acoustic glass that minimizes wind noise at highway speeds.

Safety

This trim includes the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite, featuring Intelligent Cruise Control and Blind Spot Intervention, which are highly effective for multi-lane traffic in Dubai and Riyadh. Additional safety is provided by a 360° Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, helping to navigate this large SUV into tight parking spaces. The vehicle is equipped with front, side, and curtain airbags, alongside Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection.

The bottom line

This is an ideal opportunity for a family or executive buyer who needs a low-mileage, top-spec V8 that is perfectly suited for the GCC's demanding climate and resale market.
