Summary

This 2023 Nissan X Terra Platinum represents a highly practical choice for GCC families, offering the top-tier luxury trim with a proven four-wheel-drive system. At three years old, its mileage reflects a vehicle that has been regularly utilized for the region's typical long-distance highway commutes, a task it handles with ease thanks to its large fuel capacity and stable chassis. The Platinum trim is particularly desirable in the UAE and Saudi markets as it includes premium leather and advanced safety tech that lower trims lack. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a robust cooling system and is supported by one of the strongest service networks in the Middle East. For buyers looking for a modern, tech-focused SUV that doesn't compromise on weekend desert capability, this is a standout option.

This Car vs Other 2023 X Terras

With a mileage of 99,185 km, this vehicle has covered more distance than the typical GCC average for a three-year-old car, suggesting a history of reliable long-distance travel between emirates. While the mileage is on the higher side, these four-cylinder powertrains are engineered for high-duty cycles in the region's heat. The black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale in the UAE, ensuring the car remains attractive to the secondary market when you decide to upgrade.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim adds significant value over the SE and Titanium variants, most notably through its 9-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation and a premium 8-speaker audio system. Buyers in this trim also enjoy upgraded 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility safety suite, including a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor. Inside, you get power-adjusted leather seats and a wireless charging pad, features that are often top of the list for GCC luxury SUV shoppers.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport, the X Terra stands out for its superior interior tech and on-road refinement. Its 78-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, providing an excellent cruising range for cross-border trips or long desert expeditions. Additionally, the X Terra's cabin offers a more modern digital interface and better insulation from wind noise compared to its more utilitarian rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine achieves a combined fuel economy of approximately 11.4 km/L, which is competitive for a seven-seater 4WD SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. Nissan’s service network is one of the most extensive in the region, with authorized centers readily available from Dubai to Riyadh, ensuring parts are always accessible. Historically, the X Terra retains about 70-73% of its value after three years in the GCC, making it a stable asset compared to many European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a selectable 4WD system and a 243 mm ground clearance, the X Terra is more than just a city cruiser; it is a capable weekend warrior for light to moderate dune driving. The 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for efficiency on the E11 and E311 highways while providing enough low-end response for sandy tracks. Its approach and departure angles are specifically designed to handle the steep inclines common in local wadis and desert terrains.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is optimized for the harsh Middle Eastern summer, featuring a dual-zone automatic climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows. Nissan's famous 'Zero Gravity' seats are standard here, significantly reducing fatigue during three-hour drives between major GCC cities. The Platinum trim’s leather interior and acoustic glass provide a quiet, premium environment that feels a step above the standard SUV class.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the Platinum trim, which comes standard with six airbags and the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite. This includes Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic on GCC highways. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking provide an extra layer of protection for family trips, while Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control ensure safety during off-road excursions.

The bottom line

This X Terra Platinum is the ideal match for a family that needs a tech-rich daily driver with the mechanical hardware to handle the occasional desert weekend. While the mileage is higher than average, the top-tier trim and GCC specifications make it a durable and high-value choice in today's market.
