Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra Platinum offers an exceptional balance of family utility and desert-ready capability, with mileage that sits well below the GCC annual average for a midsize SUV. As the top-tier Platinum trim, it delivers a significantly more premium cabin experience than the SE or Titanium models, featuring quilted leather and advanced tech suitable for the regional climate. Its black exterior is a high-demand choice in the UAE market, ensuring strong resale prospects when it is time to upgrade. For buyers in the Emirates, this model stands out for its robust body-on-frame construction and a specialized cooling system engineered to handle extreme summer heat. It is a practical, go-anywhere workhorse that remains refined enough for the daily school run or long highway commutes across the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2024 X Terras

With just over 28,000 km, this vehicle has been driven less than the typical 25,000 km per year expected in the GCC market, making it a low-mileage example for its year. The black-on-black color combination is one of the most liquid configurations in the UAE used market, offering a distinct advantage in future value retention compared to less popular shades. Finding a Platinum trim in this condition is a clear win for buyers who want the full suite of luxury features without the first-year depreciation hit.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the X-Terra with quilted leather-appointed seats and an 8-speaker Bose premium audio system, features not found on the SE or Titanium trims. It also standardizes the 360-degree Around View Monitor and a dedicated 11-inch rear entertainment screen, which are essential for families during long desert highway drives. Additionally, the Platinum receives 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and a full suite of ADAS safety technologies that provide superior peace of mind compared to the base variants.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra leads rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in terms of ride comfort and cabin technology, utilizing acoustic glass to ensure a quieter interior at highway speeds. Its 243 mm ground clearance is superior to the Fortuner, giving it a natural edge for weekend camping trips in the dunes. While competitors often feel more like commercial trucks inside, the X-Terra’s Zero Gravity seats provide long-distance comfort that is unmatched in this price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine averages approximately 11.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a 7-seat body-on-frame SUV in GCC city traffic. Maintenance is simplified by Nissan’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with standard minor service intervals every 5,000 to 10,000 km. Historically, the X-Terra retains about 70-73% of its value after three years in the GCC, performing competitively against its Japanese peers.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 243 mm of ground clearance and a 32.3-degree approach angle, the X-Terra is purpose-built for regional terrain. The intelligent 4x4 system features a rotary dial to switch between Sand, Mud, Snow, and Rock modes, ensuring you can navigate soft dunes with the same confidence as city streets. The 7-speed automatic transmission is geared for smooth highway cruising, providing reliable power delivery for overtaking on fast-moving UAE motorways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the Gulf climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone automatic climate control system with dedicated vents and controls for all three rows. The Platinum-exclusive quilted leather Zero Gravity seats reduce fatigue during long cross-country drives, while the 11-inch roof-mounted screen keeps rear passengers entertained. Acoustic glass and improved insulation ensure the interior remains a cool, quiet sanctuary even when external temperatures exceed 45°C.

Safety

This Platinum trim comes standard with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, featuring a 360-degree camera with moving object detection that is invaluable for parking in tight urban spaces. The safety suite includes six airbags, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Warning to handle fast-paced highway traffic. It also features Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control, providing extra stability when navigating steep gravel tracks or sandy inclines.

The bottom line

This low-mileage Platinum edition is the ideal choice for a family that needs a reliable, high-spec SUV capable of handling both the Dubai commute and weekend desert adventures.
