Summary

This 2023 Suzuki Baleno GLX represents a highly practical choice for the GCC commuter, offering a rare balance of top-tier technology and exceptional fuel economy. As a three-year-old vehicle with approximately 40,000 km, it sits comfortably within the expected mileage for a well-maintained city car in this region. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-demand choice that maintains strong resale appeal in the local market. In the GLX trim, you benefit from premium features like a 360-degree camera and a head-up display, which are typically reserved for much more expensive segments. For anyone prioritizing low running costs without sacrificing modern cabin tech, this listing is a standout opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 Suzuki Balenos

With 39,782 km on the odometer, this Baleno has been driven roughly 13,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000 km. The Grey exterior is one of the top-performing resale colors in the UAE and wider GCC, offering better value retention than more niche shades. This lower-than-average usage combined with a popular color choice makes this specific unit a safer long-term investment for a used buyer.

GLX vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the GLX trim adds essential luxury and safety features that the base GL lacks, most notably the 360-degree view camera which is invaluable for tight city parking. You also receive a larger 9-inch infotainment display with smartphone integration, a head-up display to keep your eyes on the road during high-speed highway commutes, and six airbags instead of the standard two. These upgrades significantly enhance the car's appeal in the GCC used market, where buyers actively look for the highest available specification.

Suzuki Baleno vs Segment Rivals

The Baleno leads competitors like the Toyota Starlet and Kia Rio by offering a more advanced tech suite, including a head-up display that is rare in the sub-compact hatchback segment. While rivals offer similar reliability, the Suzuki is frequently cited for superior real-world fuel efficiency, reaching as low as 4.8 L/100km. Its tight 9.7-meter turning circle also gives it a practical edge in dense urban traffic over larger hatchbacks.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating costs for the Baleno are among the lowest in the region, with a highly efficient 1.5L engine that thrives in stop-start city traffic. Suzuki enjoys an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. The model typically sees a modest depreciation rate of 8-10% annually, holding its value well due to its reputation for mechanical durability. Expect a 10,000 km service interval, which keeps routine maintenance predictable and budget-friendly.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine provides a spirited response tailored for urban environments and steady highway cruising between emirates. With a light kerb weight under 1,000 kg, the car feels zippy and handles lane changes with ease, while the 4-speed automatic transmission is tuned for reliability rather than complexity. It offers a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 11.2 seconds, which is competitive for its class and perfectly adequate for merging onto fast-moving GCC highways.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GLX trim features a surprisingly spacious cabin for its size, with dedicated rear AC vents that are a must-have for the intense GCC summer heat. The automatic climate control system is robust, and the inclusion of a head-up display and 360-degree camera makes the driving experience feel far more premium than the price point suggests. The 318-liter boot provides enough space for weekly groceries or airport runs, making it a highly functional daily driver.

Safety

Safety is a major highlight for the GLX trim, which comes standard with six airbags providing front, side, and curtain protection for all occupants. It also features electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, and hill hold assist to prevent rolling back on inclines. The 360-degree camera system provides a full bird's-eye view, significantly reducing the risk of low-speed collisions in crowded parking areas.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious professional or as a reliable first car, this low-mileage GLX offers the best technology in the hatchback segment with the lowest possible fuel bills.
