Summary

This 2023 Suzuki Ciaz GL is a high-utility commuter that balances modern age with a high-mileage profile, common in the GCC for vehicles used in inter-emirate travel. Its white exterior remains the most preferred choice in the region for heat reflection and strong resale liquidity. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for local cooling requirements and carries the reliability of Suzuki's long-standing regional presence. For buyers in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, the primary draw is the blend of a class-leading wheelbase and a fuel-efficient 1.5-litre powertrain. This specific listing offers a practical entry point into a nearly-new vehicle for those prioritizing cabin volume and low running costs.

This Car vs Other 2023 Ciazs

With 104,830 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical GCC average of 25,000 km per year. However, this often indicates consistent highway use, which is generally less taxing on the gearbox and brakes than city stop-start traffic. The white paint is a strategic advantage for used market resale in the GCC, consistently holding higher value than darker shades.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL serves as the entry trim for the Ciaz but retains essential GCC features like rear AC vents and steering-mounted audio controls. While it lacks the alloy wheels and leatherette of the GLX, it offers identical mechanical reliability and the same 480-litre cargo capacity. This trim is preferred by value-conscious buyers who want the core Ciaz space without the higher premium of electronic extras.

Ciaz vs Segment Rivals

The Ciaz stands out against the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Sunny primarily due to its 2,650mm wheelbase, which provides rear legroom closer to a mid-size sedan. Its 43-litre fuel tank paired with high efficiency makes it a superior long-distance cruiser for desert highways compared to smaller-engine subcompacts. Suzuki's S-TECT body technology also provides a more planted feel at highway speeds than many of its lighter rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a hallmark of the K15B engine, delivering a combined 6.0 L/100km that makes it one of the most economical petrol sedans in the UAE. Maintenance is supported by an extensive network of authorized service centers across all GCC states, with typical major service intervals at 20,000 km. While depreciation is steeper than a Toyota, the Ciaz maintains a strong 3.5/5 resale rating in the local market due to high demand for reliable, affordable family transport.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine produces a verified 103 hp, which is ample for city navigating and maintaining steady speeds on 140 km/h UAE motorways. It achieves a top speed of 165 km/h, though its true strength lies in its 5.4-meter turning radius, making it exceptionally easy to park in dense urban areas like Deira or Riyadh. The 4-speed automatic transmission is a simple, durable unit designed to withstand high-ambient GCC temperatures without the overheating risks associated with some CVTs.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the 'Sedan Plus' concept, offering significant shoulder and legroom for five adult passengers. Standard manual air conditioning is specifically tuned for the 45°C+ GCC summers, assisted by dedicated rear vents to ensure the entire cabin cools quickly. The 480-litre boot is accessed via an electromagnetic latch, providing one of the largest cargo areas in its price segment for family road trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GCC-spec GL includes dual front SRS airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It also features ISOFIX child seat anchors for secure family travel and rear parking sensors to aid in tight maneuvers. The vehicle is built on a high-tensile steel frame designed to disperse energy during impact, providing a predictable safety profile for daily commuting.

The bottom line

For the pragmatist needing a spacious, fuel-sipping sedan that is easy to maintain anywhere in the GCC, this 2023 Ciaz GL is a solid, honest choice. It represents a significant saving over new models while offering the same mechanical longevity Suzuki is known for.
