Summary

This three-year-old sedan is a practical choice for those seeking a balance between daily efficiency and surprising interior volume. Its white exterior is not only the most popular resale choice in the GCC but also significantly aids in heat reflection during the summer months. The Ciaz stands out from rivals by offering near C-segment legroom in a more affordable B-segment package, making it ideal for small families. With its simple mechanical layout and widespread parts availability, it remains one of the most cost-effective vehicles to maintain in the region.

This Car vs Other 2023 Suzuki Ciazs

With 51,499 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 17,000 km per year, which is below the typical GCC average of 20,000 to 25,000 km. This lower-than-average usage for the region translates to less wear on critical components like the suspension and cooling systems. The white finish further enhances its appeal, as it is highly sought after in the secondary market for its ability to hide dust and retain value.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim serves as a well-balanced entry point, providing essential GCC comforts like rear air conditioning vents and a 12V accessory socket for rear passengers as standard. While higher trims add features like leather and cruise control, the GL maintains the same efficient 1.5L powertrain and high-tensile steel S-TECT body structure. It offers all the core practicalities, including the massive 510-litre boot, without the added complexity of higher-end electronics.

Suzuki Ciaz vs Segment Rivals

The Suzuki Ciaz distinguishes itself from the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Sunny by offering a significantly longer 2,650 mm wheelbase, which provides superior rear legroom for tall passengers. Its 510-litre boot is among the largest in the compact sedan category, outperforming many vehicles in the class above. For long GCC highway commutes, its lightweight construction paired with a 1.5L engine ensures competitive fuel economy compared to heavier rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The Suzuki Ciaz is highly regarded for its low running costs, typically requiring service every 10,000 km or 6 months at any of the numerous authorized centers across the UAE and wider GCC. Its 1.5L engine is optimized for fuel efficiency, easily achieving over 18 km/L on long highway drives between emirates. Resale value remains exceptionally stable, with Japanese-engineered sedans like the Ciaz traditionally seeing lower annual depreciation rates than their European counterparts in this market.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a reliable 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine producing approximately 104 hp, the Ciaz is tuned for smooth, urban commuting and steady highway cruising. The 4-speed automatic transmission is designed for durability in stop-start traffic, avoiding the heat-related issues sometimes associated with more complex gearboxes in desert climates. Its front-wheel-drive layout and tight 5.2m turning radius make it exceptionally easy to park and maneuver in crowded city centers.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC's extreme climate in mind, featuring a powerful air conditioning system and dedicated vents for rear-seat occupants to ensure rapid cooling. The seating configuration comfortably accommodates five adults, benefitting from a flat rear floor that maximizes middle-passenger comfort. Interior insulation is effective at minimizing road noise during highway trips, while the simple dashboard layout puts all controls within easy reach of the driver.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) to maintain control during sudden stops. The vehicle is built using Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology (S-TECT), which utilizes high-tensile steel to protect the cabin in the event of a collision. ISOFIX child seat anchors are also included, ensuring secure transport for younger family members during daily school runs or weekend trips.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious commuter or a small family, this GCC-spec Ciaz offers the reliability and space of a larger car with the running costs of a compact.
