Summary

This 2023 Model Y Performance is a sharp choice for UAE drivers seeking a high-output electric crossover that fits seamlessly into the local charging infrastructure. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it offers full access to the Tesla Supercharger network and local warranty support, providing a significant advantage over American imports. The silver exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, as it reflects heat effectively and maintains strong resale interest in the pre-owned market. While the mileage reflects active use, the 2023 model year ensures you are getting the refined suspension setup that significantly improved ride quality over earlier iterations. It remains the segment benchmark for combining raw speed with a sophisticated, minimalist cabin designed for the modern commute.

This Car vs Other 2023 Model Ys

With approximately 122,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical 25,000 km annual GCC average, making it a value-driven entry point into a current-generation Tesla. Being a GCC-spec unit is its greatest asset, ensuring the hardware and software are optimized for regional connectivity and high-temperature battery management. The silver paint is one of the most resilient colors for the Gulf climate, hiding dust well and resisting the sun-fade that often affects darker cars.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim transforms the Model Y with a dual-motor setup that cuts the 0-100 km/h time significantly compared to the Long Range variant. It adds 21-inch Überturbine wheels, lowered suspension for better highway stability at speed, and performance brakes for superior stopping power. Inside, you get the full premium interior with an immersive 13-speaker audio system and aluminum alloy pedals that are not standard on lower trims.

Model Y vs Segment Rivals

The Model Y Performance leads rivals like the Kia EV6 GT and Ford Mustang Mach-E GT in cargo versatility, offering a massive 854 litres of rear boot space plus a functional front trunk. Its biggest regional advantage is the Supercharger network, which is more robust across the UAE than the third-party charging stations required by its competitors. Tesla's integrated route planning also remains more sophisticated for cross-border trips between emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low for a 437-hp vehicle, with electric charging costing a fraction of equivalent super-unleaded fuel in the UAE. Tesla does not follow traditional service intervals, using sensors to monitor components like brake fluid and cabin filters, though tires will require more frequent rotation due to the Performance trim's high torque. In the GCC market, GCC-spec Teslas retain roughly 65-70% of their value after two years, performing better than American-spec imports which often face insurance and warranty hurdles.

Performance & Capability

A top speed of 250 km/h and a 3.7-second sprint to 100 km/h make this one of the quickest SUVs on UAE roads. The All-Wheel Drive system provides instant torque distribution, which is particularly useful for maintaining traction on sandy road shoulders or during rare heavy rain. Despite its performance focus, it retains a respectable ground clearance of 157 mm, sufficient for navigating urban speed humps and standard parking lot inclines.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is anchored by the 15-inch central touchscreen which controls everything from the powerful dual-zone climate system to the navigation. The panoramic glass roof is treated with infrared and UV protection to keep the cabin cooler during the peak of the UAE summer. Premium vegan leather seats and a flat floor design provide ample legroom, making it a comfortable cruiser for family trips between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Safety

This Model Y comes standard with Tesla’s full suite of active safety features, including collision avoidance, emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring which is essential for fast-moving GCC highway traffic. The Autopilot system provides steering, acceleration, and braking assistance under driver supervision, significantly reducing fatigue on long desert highway stretches. Its rigid body structure and low center of gravity contributed to its 5-star safety ratings globally.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants supercar-slaying acceleration in a practical GCC-spec family SUV, this Model Y Performance offers the perfect balance of local peace of mind and high-tech utility.
