• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2023 Toyota Fortuner EXR is a quintessential GCC workhorse, combining legendary Hilux-based durability with a practical seven-seat layout. Finished in white, the most heat-reflective and resale-friendly color for the region, it presents a sensible entry point into the world of genuine body-on-frame 4x4s. While the 2.7-litre engine is designed for reliability and lower insurance premiums, the part-time four-wheel-drive system ensures it remains capable for weekend desert excursions. With mileage well under the typical GCC annual average for its age, this listing represents a high-trust opportunity for families or professionals seeking predictable ownership. The Fortuner remains the region's benchmark for mechanical simplicity and parts availability.

This Car vs Other 2023 Fortuners

With just over 58,000 km, this Fortuner has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average seen on UAE highways, placing it in a premium bracket for mechanical longevity. The white exterior is the most sought-after choice in the local market, ensuring maximum cabin cooling during summer and the fastest turnaround time at resale.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the robust foundation of the Fortuner range, offering essential GCC features like rear parking sensors, cruise control, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike basic commercial variants, the EXR includes 17-inch alloy wheels and side steps as standard, balancing utility with a more refined road presence.

Fortuner vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport or Nissan X-Terra, the Fortuner leads on brand equity and the sheer density of the Toyota service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Its ladder-frame construction offers superior structural rigidity for off-roading compared to monocoque-based crossovers in the same price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota Fortuners exhibit some of the lowest depreciation rates in the GCC, typically retaining 85-90% of their value in the first few years. The 2.7-litre petrol engine is engineered to run efficiently on 95-octane fuel, with real-world consumption averaging approximately 10.4 L/100km. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km, supported by the largest inventory of genuine parts in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 164 hp powertrain is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a selectable 4WD system featuring high and low-range gearing. Its 279 mm ground clearance is a standout in the mid-size SUV segment, allowing for confident navigation over high speed bumps and soft sand. While built for durability rather than speed, it offers a stable and commanding view for long-distance cruising between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for the Gulf climate, the cabin features a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure rapid cooling. The seven-seat configuration is highly flexible, with third-row seats that fold up to the sides to reveal a flat load floor. Durable fabric upholstery is chosen for the EXR trim to remain cool to the touch even after hours of sun exposure.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, and a comprehensive suite of electronic aids such as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC). The inclusion of ISOFIX child seat anchors and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System makes it a secure choice for family duties, while the anti-theft immobilizer provides peace of mind across the GCC.

The bottom line

Perfect for the pragmatic GCC buyer who values long-term reliability and high resale value over complex electronics, this low-mileage EXR is ready for both the daily commute and the desert dunes.
