Summary

This 2023 Land Cruiser VXR represents the top-tier luxury specification of the LC300 generation, featuring the high-output twin-turbo powertrain. With 63,000 km, it sits exactly on the average expected mileage for a three-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km annually is the standard for primary family SUVs. The black exterior is a high-demand resale choice in the region, ensuring better value retention than more niche colors. As a VXR, it bridges the gap between rugged utility and executive refinement, making it an ideal cross-border tourer. For the UAE buyer, this listing offers a mechanically proven specimen in its most complete regional specification.

This Car vs Other 2023 Land Cruisers

At 63,000 km, this vehicle aligns perfectly with typical GCC usage patterns for a three-year-old SUV, having been driven approximately 21,000 km per year. While many listings in the market may show lower city-only mileage, this car's history suggests healthy highway use, which is often preferable for maintaining the LC300's twin-turbo components. The black exterior remains one of the most liquid assets in the local market, consistently fetching higher prices at trade-in compared to non-standard colors.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim adds critical luxury and technology features that the GXR lacks, including the 14-speaker JBL premium sound system and a 12.3-inch high-definition infotainment screen. Most importantly for the GCC climate, the VXR includes ventilated seats for both the front and second rows, alongside a four-zone climate control system. It also upgrades the driving experience with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), providing a significantly smoother ride on fast-moving highways compared to the standard setup.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser LC300 offers superior fuel efficiency from its downsized 3.5L V6 twin-turbo engine, consuming roughly 11.6L/100km on a combined cycle. It also features a 110-litre dual-tank system that provides a greater theoretical range for long desert expeditions. While rivals focus on on-road plushness, the Land Cruiser leads in off-road hardware, maintaining a mechanical advantage with its sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control systems.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota maintains the strongest value retention of any brand in the GCC, with the Land Cruiser VXR typically losing only 8-10% of its value annually. Fuel costs are manageable for the segment, benefiting from a 10-speed automatic transmission that optimizes RPMs during long hauls between emirates. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the Middle East, ensuring parts are always available from Dubai to Muscat. Being a GCC-spec model, it carries full compatibility with local authorized service centers and maintains higher resale trust.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 produces a class-leading 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, enabling effortless overtaking on highways even when fully loaded with seven passengers. Its body-on-frame construction is paired with 235 mm of ground clearance, making it a genuine desert-ready SUV capable of tackling high dunes. The 10-speed transmission provides smooth power delivery, while the full-time AWD system ensures stability during sudden sand drifts or gravel transitions common in rural GCC areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the heat, equipped with a powerful Toyota AC system designed specifically for 45°C+ summers. The seven-seat layout includes a power-folding third row and premium leather upholstery throughout, providing a high-end feel for family trips. Tech highlights include a Head-Up Display and a 360° panoramic view monitor, which makes parking this large SUV in tight city malls much simpler. The cooled center console refrigerator is a standard VXR feature, perfect for keeping drinks cold during long cross-country drives.

Safety

This VXR is equipped with the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, including Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Trace Assist, which are essential for safety on long desert highways. The blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert provide vital protection in fast-moving UAE traffic. Standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags and an advanced Pre-Collision System, ensuring it remains one of the safest family vehicles available in the region.

The bottom line

This VXR is the perfect match for a GCC buyer who wants the flagship luxury experience without the immediate depreciation of a brand-new model. It offers the ideal balance of mileage, high-resale color, and top-tier specifications for immediate regional use.
