Highlights

• 215 mm ground clearance
• 150-litre fuel tank capacity
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2023 Toyota Prado TX-L represents a robust buying opportunity, combining low mileage for its three-year age with the high-demand 4.0L V6 engine. The brown exterior offers a unique alternative to the standard white and silver palettes while maintaining the strong resale profile that Toyota commands across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. As a GCC-spec TX-L, it bridges the gap between utility and comfort, featuring essential upgrades like a sunroof and a dedicated refrigerator that lower trims lack. For a buyer in the Gulf, this specific configuration offers the ideal balance of daily urban refinement and genuine weekend desert capability.

This Car vs Other 2023 Prados

With just 24,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the 20,000–25,000 km annual average typical for the GCC. While many 2023 Prados are now approaching the 60,000 km mark, this unit offers a mechanical head start and a well-preserved interior. The brown metallic finish is a sophisticated choice that stands out in a market dominated by white, yet retains strong secondary market appeal due to its heat-reflective properties.

TX-L vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the TX-L trim introduces several high-value features that are often missing on the entry-level TX, including a factory-fitted sunroof and a center console cool box. It also benefits from a 9-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, which is a major upgrade for daily connectivity. These additions, combined with the 271 hp V6 engine, make the TX-L the most sought-after mid-range trim for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado consistently leads rivals like the Mitsubishi Montero Sport and Ford Everest in long-term durability and regional parts availability. Its massive 150-litre dual fuel tank provides a cruising range that few in this segment can match, making it the preferred choice for cross-border drives between Dubai and Riyadh. While rivals might offer more complex tech, the Prado's body-on-frame construction ensures it handles the rigors of the Arabian desert with far less wear.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine is a GCC staple, known for its ability to run reliably on local fuel grades while maintaining a combined efficiency of roughly 13.0 L/100km. Service intervals are standard at 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the region, maintenance is convenient in every major GCC city. Historically, the Prado retains approximately 75–85% of its value after three years, making it one of the safest financial investments in the used SUV market.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 215 mm ground clearance and a selectable All Wheel Drive system with a low-range transfer case, this Prado is genuinely desert-ready. The 271 hp V6 provides the necessary torque for climbing dunes and effortless high-speed overtaking on the E11 highway. It features Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control, systems specifically engineered to maintain traction on soft sand and loose gravel surfaces common throughout the region.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the seven-seat configuration is optimized for large families, featuring a dual-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that can cool the cabin rapidly even in 45°C heat. The inclusion of a cooled center console keeps beverages chilled during long summer drives. Acoustic glass and improved insulation ensure the cabin remains quiet and shielded from the heat during extended highway commutes between emirates.

Safety

This TX-L comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control (VSC), and Traction Control (A-TRC) tailored for sandy surfaces. Crucially for GCC highway driving, it includes a rear-view camera and parking sensors to aid visibility in tight urban spaces. The body structure is reinforced for side-impact protection, providing peace of mind for family outings.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a low-mileage 4.0L V6 that balances family duties with off-road heritage, this GCC-spec 2023 Prado is an exceptional choice that will hold its value for years to come.
