Summary

This 2023 Toyota RAV4 EX represents one of the most practical and reliable choices for a family crossover in the GCC market. With its green exterior offering a unique alternative to the standard white and silver palettes, it maintains the model's legendary reputation for durability and strong resale value. This specific front-wheel-drive EX trim provides a balanced mix of essential technology and comfort without the higher maintenance costs associated with all-wheel-drive systems. Driven roughly 58,000 km, it has been used appropriately for a high-mileage highway environment like the UAE, where these vehicles are built to last well beyond the 300,000 km mark. For a buyer seeking a stress-free ownership experience and an easy exit at resale time, the RAV4 remains the segment benchmark.

This Car vs Other 2023 RAV4s

With 58,267 km on the odometer, this RAV4 has seen slightly higher than average usage for its age, reflecting the long-distance highway driving common across the Emirates. However, the green exterior is a rare and attractive find in a market saturated with neutral tones, which can often speed up a sale to the right buyer. Being a GCC-spec model, it carries the cooling and filtration systems specifically designed for our extreme summer heat, unlike many imported North American or Japanese variants.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim sits above the base LE, offering a more refined interior and enhanced technology features that are highly valued in the local used market. It upgrades the driving experience with features like a larger 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system, alloy wheels instead of steel, and improved seat fabrics. These additions, combined with standard proximity keyless entry and push-button start, provide a more premium feel that justifies its higher standing over entry-level trims.

RAV4 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5, the RAV4 leads in terms of sheer mechanical simplicity and widespread service support throughout every GCC city. Its 2.5-liter engine provides more horsepower than many base-model competitors while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency on the highway. Additionally, the RAV4’s reputation for reliability means it typically commands the highest resale value in its class after 3 to 5 years of ownership.

Running Costs & Resale

The RAV4 is famous for its low cost of ownership, with real-world fuel consumption averaging around 7.8 L/100km, making it ideal for the daily commute between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Toyota's authorized service centers are available in almost every major district across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are always affordable and accessible. Historically, a GCC-spec RAV4 retains approximately 80% of its value after three years, making it one of the safest financial investments in the automotive market.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-liter Dynamic Force engine produces a healthy 203 horsepower, providing ample power for confident highway overtaking and merging into fast-moving traffic. While this is a front-wheel-drive model suited for urban and highway use, its 190 mm ground clearance allows it to handle gravel paths and rougher roads with ease. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, ensuring a relaxed cabin environment even during the stop-start traffic of Riyadh or Dubai.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the RAV4 EX offers a spacious 5-seat layout with class-leading legroom and a massive 580-liter boot space that easily accommodates family luggage or gear. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, a critical feature for GCC summers, and is complemented by rear-seat cooling vents to keep all passengers comfortable. Quiet cabin insulation and ergonomic seat designs make long-distance road trips across borders a comfortable experience for the whole family.

Safety

This RAV4 comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes essential driver-assist technologies like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning. These systems are particularly useful on long desert stretches and multi-lane highways, providing an extra layer of protection. Standard safety features include a comprehensive airbag system, stability control, and a high-strength chassis that has earned 5-star safety ratings in international testing.

The bottom line

This RAV4 EX is the perfect opportunity for a practical buyer who wants a reliable, GCC-ready family SUV with a unique look and guaranteed resale strength.
